Ok, if those are the scenes needed I will start working on the backgrounds.

They won't be 100% but I will do my best!

Thank you very much. Right now I think we just need homestar's bedroom and living room. And then we'd just need a small assortment of probs like the cow-lamp, compe, and other random things.

I don't think you need a google account. There are some people on there with Yahoo and other accounts.

I'd be happy to host it, because I imagine FredtheMonkey.com has the bandwidth needed to handle this sort of traffic. We can link from here, it will just be sitting on the FtM server so that it doesn't disappear or something like sometimes happens with free online-hosting websites.

I don't know if I'm too late or not, but I'd be willing to join in animating, I guess pretty decent. You can see some of my stuff at http://47times.newgrounds.com/
If I had enough time, I would be able to animate in a really similar way to the HR toons, I'm just sayin.

My new stuff is getting better, so I'd really like to join in.

I can do voices and writing (if you guys still need it).

Also I think a good email beginning phrase would be
"There was this one time I ate a bunch of macaroni, and I pooped out an email."

And If I may be a-so-a-bold.

I've seen a LOT of fans trying to do voices (I might be one of them) please doughnut pick some crappy 15years old boy who just sounds like he had a sore throat to do Strong Bad.

Okay, fine. This is a BAD idea, guys. Fantoons (translation: FANFICTION) like this are almost always ill conceived and poorly executed. Can we please leave the Homestar Runner content creation to the Chapmans? A fantoon will only serve to embarrass everybody involved. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm trying to help. Please don't do this.

Wow, have some faith, why don't you? Just because it could turn out bad, doesn't mean it will. It's not like it's some idea tossed into the wind, people are actually working hard on this to show their thanks to the Chapmans.
It seems to me that you're basically saying "Don't even try, because no matter how hard you work on it, no matter how many people put an effort into this, how meaningful a whole "thank you" toon made by loving fans would be to the Chapmans, you're definitely going to fail, just give up." If people thought like that, no one would ever do anything.

No no. It WILL be terrible, without question. I have no reason to believe that any form of fan fiction, let alone fan fiction simply for the sake of fan fiction, will not be so bad that anybody will be able to watch without feeling utter embarrassment for everybody involved. That's just the nature of stuff like this. If this is truly the end of Homestar Runner, let's let it lay peacefully instead of digging up its corpse and playing Weekend at Bernie's in flash form.

People wanna be creative, I get that. But focus your energies on your own works, not somebody else's. The Chapman Brothers are the only people qualified to make H*R cartoons, because only they know what is best for the characters and franchise.

I like the whole fan cartoon idea, but the thing I usaully see with fanmade things like this, is that people use jokes from the site way too often and it kinda annoys me.
Sorry to make anyone feel down in anyway, but it does.

At least read the script before passing judgement on how much we use already used jokes.

Quote:
Homestar Runner Fan Toon (7/12/10)
SXF: Sweet, lullaby music.
Txt: Title of Cartoon
Txt: Authors of cartoon
SFX: Alarm clock rings.
Homestar: (startled and bolting up) Banana pancakes! (looks around, picks up alarm) Oh CWAP, I slept through June! (short pause) And May! (looks at clock) And Decemberween!
Bubs: (in background from other room) Come one come all! Everything must go! Shoplifters will be electrocuted!
Homestar: Huh? (gets up)
(Cut to hallway/other room. Bubs has tables set up and is selling classic Homestar memorabilia. See things like the stick, blue whale, goblin, all with price tags on them. Homestar enters.)
Homestar: (mad) What in the name of Matt Chapman is going on here?!
Bubs: Quiet! I'm about to make a sale!
Marzipan: This cow lamp is so cute! It would go perfectly in my Soy Room to remind me of all the cows I'm saving by not eating them! How much?
Bubs: That'll be Some dollars!
Homestar: (excited) Wow, that's a good deal, I bought it for TWICE that!
Marzipan: Perfect! (hands dollars to Bubs)
Bubs: Perfect! So whadda you saying, Homestar?
Homestar: Oh yeah. (mad again) What the heck do you think you're doing?!
(Strong Bad walks over, also behind table with Bubs.)
Strong Bad: What does it look like we're doing, crap for brains?
Homestar: Not like you're making me breakfast, that's for sure!
Strong Bad: Well, Sceb-
Homestar: (cut to a close up of Homestar leaning into Bubs, quitely) "Did he just call me a scab?" (Cut back out)
Strong Bad: -You've been gone for a really long time. No one knew where you went or if you were coming back.
Strong Sad: (leans in) I TOLD you he was sleeping in his room-
Strong Bad: (quickly) Shut up. (to Homestar) So we figured you were gone for good and decided to liquidate all your assets.
KoT: Did someone say liquidate? Cause for 5 dollars, I’ve got this large boiling pot of whats-
Homestar: Ooo! A Witches Brew! Of course I’ll-
Bubs: I’ll give ya six dolla’s for that!
KoT: Sold!
Homestar: But I wanted that!
Bubs: Well then you can buy it, for 6.50!
Homestar: 6:50!?!? Maybe if I got that computer-box too!
Strong Bad: (worried) No, that's not for sa-
Bubs: Only 9 Dolla’s!
(Strong Bad has a shocked look on his face, *sound of piano keys being smashed)
Homestar: Well that's a steal if I ever saw one! I'll take it! (takes computer and "witches brew" and walks back into bedroom with it)
Strong Bad: NOOOO! my sweet sweet box of email-tacular entertainment!!! Why? WHYYYY, I- I'm OUTTA HERE!!! (mumbles & walks away) Gonna get myself a snowcone or maybe hang out at The Stick...
TXT: END

What in the name of flying Eskimo poop is this supposed to be?

I think the general idea is good but don't mention they where selling his stuff for that reason.
Also, you (like the Caps) should have a plan B just in case this steams more than the :poop: in the middle of July.
Do something unrelated to the hiatus?

BTW if you want to use those two jokes you can, just LMK and give me credit.

I personally think the script is great. But I bet some dollars that this toon never gets finished.

(I don't really believe that, but I'm just saying it as some motivation... lol)

I don't like this pesimism about a fan cartoon. I think the brother chaps were starting to lose there style before and in between both hiatuses. I think the only people now who can actually make a cartoon is us fans.

This whole idea can be summed up in ten words...

Pah! I lived in the realm of fan fiction for five years! And...

Well, okay, it grew into a life of its own, almost to the point where it couldn't be called fan fiction anymore.

Anyway ignoring what I say, I'm only in the writing portion which is just about done save any revisions that people might wanna do, I think probably the bumpiest part would be the voices.

Although obviously it will be pre-screened to a random assortment of people who will vote on a scale of 1-5 if they would believe it to be made by TBC and if they think it good, and if the votes are good then it's a go! Right? Right? Right, right?
