Lol, I'm only kidding....H*R would make a great veedeeo game, and you've all come up with some good ideas....What about an RPG where you play as :hr: with :coachz: and  in constant quest of the defeat of :sb: , :sm: and  ....in honor of the :kot: and his kidnapped daughter :marzi:. You can learn to fight from :pom: (did you see him kick StrongBad's bootay in the pom pom email?) and naturally, you buy all supplies from :bubs: who magically teleports himself to whatever area of the world you are in at the time! :trogdor: and :goblin: can be extra villians along the way (but :trogdor: won't die, he'll just get bored and let you go...) And :ehsteve: , :copter: , and :casio: can be play second-banana, comic relief type characters....

Me likes. That could be teh cool. But you can't forget about Poopsmith and Homsar there.

Ok, so :homsar: would be the weird wise dude who gave you riddles that are supposed to tell you what to do next, only you have to figure them out....and when you die, a "Game Over" screen comes up with the Poopsmith sweeping away your entrails...

Y'know, I want to make a Homestar game with RPG Maker for Playstation, but it's really freaking hard to make character sprites. Plus, you can't upload from a computer or anything.

I think if someone makes a H*R game, it should be a mix of all our ideas. Then, it would be so kewl!

The fact is, in RPG Maker 2 you can only change the colors of the pre-made sprites. You can't make your own.

This is the official site of the Homestar Runner video game for the Atari 2600. It even has a demo on it (but it requires that you have an Atari 2600 emulator).

I can't wait to bust out the old Atari and play this game! It's gonna be the best Atari game ever (and the first Atari RPG).

Wow... This sounds great! If someone makes some character-sets, I'd happily get started building a H*R RPG! ;)

I'll need to collect LOTS of sound clips...and some AVI captures too...

Two questions...

1. Are they really making a H*R game for Atari? I have something called a "Video Computer System" that I think is an Atari... it has all the old games like Adventure and Pitfall. I can't see the point in making an atari game, though... it's not like a lot of people still have one.

2. How could anyone like a game like Animal Crossing? That was one of the worst games ever. (Though all other GameCube games are good).

Yes, they are making a homestar runner game for atari, if you scroll up a little you can see someone posted the website that has a review on the game.

Really? I think thats the only kind of game I would enjoy. I mean, a point-and-click adventure game, maybe like the Secret of Monkey Island or LOOM.

PlayStation 2 game. Definitely. Maybe X-box.

Or they could put it on GameCube, so the graphics look actually good, and the gameplay doesn't suck.

I'd personally think that, aside from the Atari 2600 Homestar RPG already in the works, the only style of game that would stay true to H*R would be an adventure game along the lines of some of Lucasarts' early releases (like the first Monkey Island games). I think only with that style of game would you be able to focus on the humor.

Exactly. Apart from what you said about being true to H*R, it would be the only kind of game I would enjoy, because adventure games are much more satisfying than anything else. Also, anything on a new console would not be at all true to H*R. Pixelated graphics are state-of-the-art enough. Just listen to strong bad in Sbemail 94.

I've noticed that all games now are centered on great graphics. I sometimes play a game that is not great graphics and their pretty cool. Halo is based around killing the same enemy over and over and over until you get to an objective. It's addicting, but neverending. And the graphics are "State of the art"!! They just work on the graphics. Some games today just... aren't... as fun as they used to.

I know what you mean, some games just arent meant to have good graphics, like they'd be better without really good graphics.

Much of the problem with the videogame industry today is the fact that creativity's being squashed in favor of whatever is flashy and trendy. It's gotten to where most videogames are really expensive to make so most videogame companies aren't willing to take risks on new or interesting ideas anymore. There are exceptions to the rule, granted (such as Nintendo's in-house developers), but for the most part original gameplay doesn't matter as much as "does this game look pretty enough so Joe Average will want to try it out?"
