As you all know, the Fall 2006 Pledge Drive is in full force. But with less than a week to go, we only have a quarter of the money that we need. Remember, if these drives fail, then either one of two things will happen. Either we will have to start letting ads onto the Wiki and the forum, and no-one wants any pop-ups, right? That, or the Wiki, and thus the forum as well, will have to be shut down. These drives are crucial for keeping the Wiki ad free and running.

All we ask is for your help. If we can get 120 to donate $10, then we'd be set. That's all it takes. You don't have to donate $120, but it sure helps. The two easiest ways to donate are either by mail or PayPal. If you decide to mail your donation, do not, and I repeat, do not put the money in an envelope and ship it out. Either send a money order, or send a check. A money order works just like a check, and can do them from many different places, just like your local Post Office. The fee for the Post Office money order is 95 cents. So if you want to send $10, you'll need to bring with you $11.

I know that many of you are young, but some of you might have a few bucks lying around, right? Even if you can only send $5, it still helps.

If you send a check or money order, please make it out to Joey Day. You can find out more on how to donate on the wiki's Donation page.

Thank you to all that have donated, and may the Wiki live long and prosper.

If we need to why dont we use those google ads. They are only text that run along the top (or were you chose) and generally are not annoying. Now I feel like I need to donate... looks like Im sending in a check for like 5 bucks...

Remember, every dollar counts. We need every penny we can get. We dont want to use ads if we don't have to.

Okay. I'm going to donate $20.

I'd donate more if I could, but my mum won't let me.

Well folks, this is it. Tomorrow it ends, and we only have about half of what we need. If anyone is out there, waiting for the last minute, now is the time to act.

It's that time again. The Spring 2007 Fundraising Drive! Now, as you may or may not know, we here at the wiki and forum cannot sell any kinds of ads. so the only way to keep them running is by donations. as you can see, we've already have had some donations, but that won't be nearly enough.

If we can get just 120 people here to donate just $10, then we'll have reached our goal. If you find the Wiki useful, then you should consider sending in a donation. If you want this forum to keep running, then please, donate.

You people have seen how slow the wiki and forum have been running lately, right? April 1st was probably the worst it's been in a while. these donations go to properly maintain and upgrade the site and the servers. With the money raised in the fundraiser, we can afford to make sure that the forum and wiki don't freeze up and crash.

So please, send in those donations. The instructions are in my initial post in this thread. thank you, and may the Wiki and Forum live long and prosper.

I'd really like to donate this time, but my mum won't let me, and I don't have a credit card. So I can't. All I can give is this ASCII million dollar bill, and I can't do it here because of the font that's used.

Checks should work. Just follow the instructions here. Though PayPal is probably the best thing to use. It will make things a lot easier. If you have a question about international donations, you could also try to PM Joey about it. He knows a lot more about that stuff than I do.

The pledge drive ends on the 30th of this month. And mail can take anywhere between 3-10 days to deliver, depending on where you live. If you live in America, it should only take 5 days at the most.

But just because the pledge drive only goes until the 30th doesn't mean you can't donate anytime after that. We are always accepting donations.

Can you send in cash?
'cause if you can, I'll donate some moneys. Cash is the only way I could donate. But I know that some places don't like you sending in cash.

They prefer you don't send cash. But anybody can send a money order. Here's what you do:
  1. Go to your nearest post office, Wal-Mart, or big chain grocery store
  2. Go to the customer service counter and tell them you need a money order
  3. Give them your cash, plus whatever fee they're charging (Wal-Mart charges less than fifty cents, the post office charges around a buck)
  4. Take your money order, mail it us
Seriously, getting a money order is easy and cheap, and way more secure than sending cash.

Well, it's the 15th, and we're halfway through the pledge drive. We've raised over $900 so far, but we're still not to our goal yet. $1200 is the minimum we want to raise. We would like to be able to raise more than that, just in case something happens.

I won't accidently spend all of the money on shoes again this year.
I promise.

Well folks, we're in the final stretch. There's less than a week to go, and we only need about $184. We're almost there, but we still need your help. Whatever you can do will be more than enough.

Just a few more dollars, and then we're safe for another 6 or so months!

Sixty-four dollars and four cents, to be rather irritatingly exact.

I would donate if I wasn't 11.

Sadly, I must admit I didn't donate this year. Earlier this year, I deleted my PayPal account because of a pfishing scare regarding some erroneous transaction. I didn't fall for it, but I didn't want to take any chances either. I went ahead and deleted all my credit information from PayPal (through the actual web site, not the phony email link) until I felt it was safe. And in all likelihood, I'll probably just start a new account anyway.

Not only that, but thanks to the hypocrites of Faithless Lutheran Church, my monthly income has been cut in half. Still, I would have given a few bucks, except for that PayPal thing.

FYI, you can still donate without a PayPal account; the transaction still goes through PayPal, but you just punch in your credit card (or check/debit card if your roll like me) number, no logging in or anything.

Oh! I did not know that!

I was actually planning on sending Joey a check anyway, but I never can find my checkbook when I think about it. But rent's due soon, so I'll have to dig it out anyway.

Well, there's also money orders. It's how I send my checks. They cost just $.95 at the Post Office.
