I want to make a Homestar Runner soundtrack. You know, with the songs that correspond to the characters. Unfortunately, I can't find a lot of songs that remind me of Homestar Runner related things.

Does anyone else have some? I guess Genius In France by Weird Al kind of works for Homestar. Not very well though.

I don't think it works at all for Homestar.

I LOVE THAT SONG THOUGH.

Why do you want to make a "soundtrack" for H*R anyways? It already has it's own awesome music. Limozeen and other "bands", other music like Trogdor and the rock opera and the "theme songs" in that email and stuff, little keyboardy instrumental things for the toons, Song About Sibbie, The Cheat is Not Dead, and so on!

'Cuz it's quite fun, is why. I've done it before to.

So, I think "Super Bon Bon" by Soul Coughing makes a great Strong Bad song. It's got a very Strong Baddish attitude, me thinks.

For those songs, you might need the CD. Cause everything else is at the downloads section.

Song About Sibbie isn't anywhere, though.

It's got a great slinky beat, too.

Anyway, Strong Sad Rocks out is cool, for SS of course, but since it directly references the Sadster, maybe it doesn't work.

Anyway, the song "This Hyper World" reminds me of Homestar, which, incidentally, you can get for free. With its synth-happy, rapid beat, it even sounds almost like a piece of site music.

Here's the song. It sounds to me like Homestar being Homestar. :P

Oh, I don't know,
Run outside and twirl
Scream hello
At this hyper world!

"Da da da" by Trio.

Just because it features the sound of the infamous Casio VL-Tone. This "synth" (it's actually some sort of a weird synth/calculator hybrid) happens to be keyboard Strong Bad's head (from Sweet Cuppin' Cakes), and the drum pattern heard in menu 28 (hover over "characters") can also be heard in "Da da da".

Dude! I've heard that song! I can't say it's very Homestarrish. Maybe Homsarrish, but I dunno.

Is it really random? Homsar has to be, like, a Weird Al or They Might Be Giants song. No normal band's song will do.

"Start wearing purple, wearing purple... Start wearing purple for me now! All your sanity and wits they will al vanish! I promise! Its just a matter of time."

I didn't exactly say it was like him, just that it reminds me of him.

If Homsar was a They Might Be Giants song... that I've heard... Maybe Purple Toupee? It's got a bunch of confused references to the 60s, and Homsar is a song from the 60s. Unfortunately he doesn't appear to wear a purple toupee.

I was just listening to that in my car. Weird. But I can see where you're going with that, the lyrics are very random, though Mandy could probably explain the to us.

For Homsar, I just thought of Bob, by Weird Al.
Completely random song.
Who would have thought to make a song completely out of palindromes.
...besides Al.

Aw I'm deeply offended, no its most likely that its because TMBG writes a song that says the most random stuff, and Weird al writes 11 minute songs!

Apparently it's about the fact that no one has a precise recollection of the 60s, and they were stating all these facts they got mixed up.

What about for Strong Sad, Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now by Morrissey. It would be very useful for Strong Sad.

Mampers

This is going super obscure, but there's a song from a psuedo-musical, In Trousers by William Finn (you might know him from The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, if you know him at all) that just strikes me as working so well with the HR characters. "How Marvin Eats His Breakfast," with Strong Bad as Marvin and Coach Z, Strong Bad, and Marzipan as the chorus.
examples with changed lyrics when appropriate:

Strong Bad:
I love being Strong Bad!
I love being Strong~ Bad!
Strong Bad always eats the finest breakfast in town!
(This is actually proven wrong by the song, jsyk)
-------
All:
Life is lonely, life is rotten
Strong Bad:
And thankfully short, thankfully short, thankfully short!
Chorus:
Like Strong Bad!
--------
Chorus:
Everybody into the kitchen
Here comes Strong Bad!
Waving his hands like a twit
He throws a fit, then a knife

Anyway, if you'd like the song, give me a PM or something.

My theory on Purple Toupee is that it is sung by someone who was very young during the sixties, and therefore doesn't remember all of the important political stuff that happened, only the purple toupee's and gold lame.

(I don't know how to do the diagonal line over the 'e' in lame)
