I just finished watching "The chair" email for the first time.

For some reason, TBC like to reference my hometown, poughkeepsie, NY. They first did it in sick day, with homestar's word play. ("When will the trains reach poughkeepsie?") And they just did it again in the chair when strong bad said "poughkeithpsy".

I wonder why they like to mention it.

Has anyone else here had a local place mentioned in a homestar cartoon?

They enjoy mentioning it because it's fun to pronounce, I would assume. :p

EDIT: My bad, I read the first post wrong. Well, Strong Bad did say Cowichewa (as in konnichiwa).

Man, you guys have weirdly named towns...
All we have is Wagga Wagga, and other names of that nature.
At least ours are pronouncable.

But we have a city named Townsville! How creative were the early settlers of Queensland! And Wagga Wagga is a funny name, if you ask me.

Anyway, in crying Strong Bad mentioned the city I live in, Canberra. He pronounced it wrong though. It's CAN-bra. Still no sign of DJ Smoldyface.

Well, one Strong Bad Email was from someone in the city I live in; Albuquerque, New Mexico. Strong Bad pronounced it "Albu-que-que".

Heh heh.

They like repeating stuff. Like with Stinkoman. It was a Strong Bad nickname before it was a actual character.

What i was talking about was the off topicness of this thread. How all of a sudden we got to talk about Wagga Wagga and whatnot.

Murfreesboro, TN (or MurFREEsboro, as Strong Bad calls it).

(PS: Is Bucksnort, TN any better than Wagga Wagga)? ;)

Poughkeepsie and West Point are both pretty close to my hometown.
