When we originally set up this board, it was meant as a supplement to the wiki. The main focus of this forum is simply to facilitate wiki decision polls and give our membership a place to share opinions and friendly discussion. I'm curious, is it still acting primarily as a supplement to the wiki, or do we have a lot of users who frequent the forum but don't actually contribute to the wiki?

Please answer this poll as honestly as possible -- I'm not planning on doing anything drastic. You won't be kicked out if you aren't contributing to the wiki, but if you aren't currently helping out we would encourage you to do so.

I don't want to turn people away, but if you are just using the forum to play games and chat, you might find a better experience over at a dedicated forum like homestarrules.com.

EDIT: I would've left this in the Fun Polls section, but I'd like to make sure a majority of our users see it.

Well, I am a member of the wiki, under the same name. But the thing is that I'm afraid of really messing things up. That and when I do try to edit I get really confused. That and also when I try to edit something I find out that someone else already put it up.

What with all the DVD stuff, I've been pretty busy on the Wiki as of late, really. And before that I've done transcripts and fixes and redid the Strong Bad Sings lyrics and really just a ton. And the fact that there's at least 20 commentaries on the DVD that I could still do commentary for doesn't exactly excite me, but hey, it has to be done.

The amount I help out isn't in the poll.

And that is: I help out a lot when there's some formatting issues or something (Like the little navigation menu at the bottom of the sbemails, I did a lot of those). And I try to fix any small errors I come across. So I dunno, I make small changes, but a lot of them, sporadically.

Don't be. I can safely say I've messed up more times than I'd care to mention editing things on the Wiki, and little has ever come of it. No-one's going to yell at you for making an honest mistake. Get editing! :)

I joined the wiki a while before I joined the forum. I joined the wiki because I was out making small changes, spelling, grammar, the like. I've never made a significant addition, just made small fixes, added or disputed an occasional fun fact.

I kept that up until the wiki went down and was replaced with the new wiki. Don't get me wrong, I like the new wiki much more than the old wiki. It was just a lot like the first baseball strike with me. I watched baseball regularly until that strike, and then I just got out of the habit. I no longer made time to watch baseball. Similarly, when the wiki was down for so long, I got out of the habit of visiting it. When it came back up, I checked it out, did some small things, but never really got back into the habit of stopping by there.

Although I used to do transcripts back in the good old days (when there was like 20 of us), I barely change anything anymore. Someone else always gets there first for the major updates. Now I do just a few minor edits whenever I come across them.

Ah, the Wiki.

While I was a massive contributer at one time, even helping out with the Wiki move, now I'm a little too busy with my own website and with work to really contribute with the Illustrious Mr. Day's Wiki.

In closing, VISIT THE WIKI, NOT JUST THE FORUM!

I edit Wiki FOR FUN, INSTEAD OF MY HOMEWORK. I'm a pretty sad character, aren't I?

Wow, I actually did something on thw Wiki with out destroying it. I'm proud of myself. Now I have to actually write something, before someone else does.

I usually make edits to other, larger pages, though I've made some large pages of myself.

Wow, you nerds have a wiki? Stop using fancy five syllable words anyway.

1p|-| 4|\|y7|-|1|\|9 7|-|3Y 5|-|0|_|1|) 83 13373&5!

Don't you think YOU'RE a Clever Dan.

"If anything they should be leete(?)s" (unsure on the last bit because it's been a long time since anyone I'd ever want to make aquaintance with used leet)

Here's a handy hint, though: using leet doesn't make you look cool or dangerous or anything of the sort. It just makes you look really, really lame.

i came to the wiki first, and used it for about a week until i realized that a forum existed...it feels like by the time i see a new email or something, everyone else has already put everything up about it.

I mostly do minor edits. I do the edits you never really notice. I fixed several character pages with very minor word edits, and a few cartoons. Fun facts on occasion, too.

I used to do whole pages, but now someone else always beats me to it. If I ever see something that needs to be fixed or added, I'll do it.

I don't go on the wiki much anymore. It's just not as fun as it used to be. I like it here, though, and you can see me here more than on the wiki!

Same here. I've stopped coming around as much because theres really nothing very urgent that needs doing. (Aside from the main page. That looks like crap.)
But really, within an hour after every toon is released, everything I'd ever want to know about it is already on the wiki.Theres gotta be people here who refresh the homestarrunner.com website franticly waiting from a new toon so they can transcribe it.
*sigh*

As you can see, it's very obvious to me that we have a wiki.

Besides, isn't "Wiki Forum" an oxymoron?

No. If anything, they're the same thing. They're both a place where people can add their thoughts on what things are to a previously said statement.

Yeah, I discovered the Wiki long before I joined the forum, and I usd to majorly contribute. Nowadays, all I do is delete fun facts that are just "too much of a stwetch" and add ones I find nescessary, and occasionally help with "stubs".

I surely would post more frequently on this forum if I knew more of y'alls. Nothing against this forum at all- I just do nearly (read: all) of my posting on another site- yet I come here to read opinions on similar threads/topics quite often. Such interesting comments appear seem to draw my attention, prompting me return to "forum lurk" time and time again.

I highly respect all the admins and the creator JoeyDay. InterruptorJones, whom see post most frequently, is most notable for his clear and concise methods and tactics.

In terms of editing the wiki, I'll let those reading this judge for themselves.

I first found the site in October 2003 and didn't know about the forums until July 2004.
