's name keeps appearing as "Strong Bad Runner" on my computer. Is this some silly trick the moderaters are playing or did we get virus'd?

Totally a virus; I had the same thing earlier today. The virus seemed to have infected my entire C:/ drive on my computer.

Actually, it's due to a common flaw in your motherboard, most likely. Take your computer apart (be sure to do so on carpet flooring -- run the dehumidifier -- do NOT touch metal other than your computer! this is important!). One of the green flat things is the motherboard. If there are more than the required twenty-eight electronic components, then it's a manufacturing flaw and there's nothing you can do about it. Re-insert the motherboard, go to Start --> Run and type in regedit, then hunt through the registry and change some values to zero. That might at least cancel the deadly effects of the flaw. Otherwise, it's a virus. Put your computer in the oven and select "Clean" to clean the viruses from your computer.

Its all under your System32 folder. Its under computer > C > WINDOWS and you'll find it there. It does nothing much, just holds cookies and information such as code values and variables for programs and websites you visit, so it shouldn't affect much.

If it says you can't delete it, then you have a virus that attacks certain files and folders and locks them out of your administrator's account. All you'd have to do then is wipe it.

Trust me on this, I'm a Computer Science 3 major.

Your iTunes or lack thereof may be the problem too.

IF YOU HAVE iTUNES:
1. Uninstall it.
2. Reinstall it.
3. Wait 2 hours and 4 minutes.
4. Uninstall it.
5. Reinstall it.

IF YOU DON'T HAVE iTUNES:
1. Install it.
2. Uninstall it.
3. Upgrade to Vista.
4. Downgrade to XP.
5. Install iTunes again.
6. Buy Metallica's Ride the Lightining in the iTunes store.
7. Uninstall it again.
8. Install it.

If you already have Vista, switch steps 3 and 4. Hope that helps.

Oh, I forgot to mention, you need to have at least 3 anti-virus programs running at the same time. I'd recommend McAfee, Norton, and Windows Defender.

Oh, that virus is really getting around, I think it's even getting onto the main homestar runner web site. I fixed it on my computer.
It's an anti homestar/strong bad virus that infects all related sites. You have to go to the official anti strong bad virus repair site and select whether your problem is with "homestar" or "Strong Bad". Don't pick the wrong one or it will stuff your computer even more. Good luck.

I'd just like to say that the administration is very hard at work trying to fix this problem. We'll let everyone know once this has been repaired. We suspect that Joey got a worm that's been floating around. In the meanwhile, we recommend that all users clear their caches and then do an uninstall-reinstall of firefox. This has helped to stay of the virus in our own computers, it should probably do the same for yours.

Yeah, I've heard of this virus going around. Apparently, the official HR site was even down with it, but I've heard they got it fixed again. I hope the administration here is competent enough to handle this situation. If not, we've always got the backup nuke.

Attention Users: The Homestar Runner Wiki Forum administration has discovered the source of the problem. We have 3 alpacas hiding in our server room. JoeyDay and I tried to run them out with a broom earlier today but we were forced to turn back when they began spitting at us. We have contacted animal control and they suggested that we could either: 1) let the alpacas starve to death or; 2) kill them.
We do not feel like waiting on them to starve, so we have decided that the only option we have is to stuff some towels under the door and flood the room, drowning the alpacas. We will commence the flooding tonight at 9 PM Mountain Dew Time. Unfortunately, flooding the server room will flood our server, as well. To prevent damage to your own computer (and house), please be sure you have disconnected (and logged out) from the forum by 8:55 MDT. Otherwise, the water will flow through the internet and into your homes and the server room will never fill up enough to drown those dang alpacas (plus Stu's water bill will be huge). Unfortunately, this action will probably put out our firewall, so we might be down for a couple of hours until we can get it dried out and re-lit.
