It's being reset.

But no one on this forum probably cares.

I've put in my two cents. Frankly I don't think it's gonna work.

Hah, I remember people arguing about this in the Fanstuff IRC last night.

Just skimming over the discussion about the purge on the Fanstuff Wiki itself, I have to ask: why? If people are complaining about quality of fanstuff items being poor, then why don't they make better creations? Purging the entire place to get rid of the crap isn't going to do anything, especially if the same people making poor creations from before make things again on the "fresh" database. Deleting the content of a website isn't going to make it a better place--it'll just dust away all of the gunk that'll slowly creep back over time.

Just an idea...
They could have a rating system (I don't use the Fanstuff Wiki, so they might already, I dunno) and any items with a low rating would be deleted/shown to appointed persons for consideration. There is probably already so much junk on there that it would take forever to get rid of it all this way, but just an idea, as I said.

Commence finding every flaw in my two cents for the sake of it.

^This. Apparently it's "supposed to make it easier to control crap" which will somehow make quality magically ten times better.

IDC cares more about the Fanstuff than the Forum, which I must say, turns out a notch higher of quality arrangements than the other, but still.

None the less, they should put restrictions on what makes something worthy of a Fanstuff's page. For instance, the entire "Fake Games" Category could be removed. Same with Hyperfiction, Interactive "Games," most of the Fan Fiction stuff.

Hell, just get rid of all of it, its sad.

It's kinda sad that that's true, especially since the Forum barely even gives a crap about Homestar Runner. And all the Fanstuff ever gets is a bunch of retarded ten year olds.

My thoughts exactly. Nothing is going to be fixed if it's the same crap all over again. I think all the Fanstuff Wiki needs is new people who aren't the same retarded ten-year-olds as we've always had. I don't care who it could be. Hell, I'd even take slashfic fan girls.

They should just get rid of the fanstuff wiki. I mean, if someone has a piece of fanfiction or something, I'm sure there are numerous other website out there dedicated to it that they can waste bandwidth on.

None the less, all the Fanstuff is (Except for the three or four people who have actually contributed something GOOD) a Murkle Firk of the same retarded ten year olds giving each other praise, and anyone who has constructive critisism is a hater.

...Murkle Firk?

Hey stop insulting my precious fanstuff :-(

Nah, I'm actually pretty glad this is happening. There is a lot of junk on the wiki, and I'm really glad to see that there's a movement to improve it. I might start going back there once there's work to do.

Well, if anybody remembers NSMC*, this isn't an impossible task.

*A vandal using a bot vandalized the entire wiki and a few others. I was there when that was starting, man. I saw some crap go down.

Lol, you met NSMC? That guy was like an Internet terrorist.

Also, I agree, Dinoshaur's logo is the greatest.

Does anybody know if there is a template of some sort for this logo thing? I want to make one, but I have no idea what the font is, and I don't want to rip it from the current Fanstuff and Wiki logos since it'll make the image have rough edges.

Oh, and the kamikaze background that I ripped from Homestar Runner is different the the Wiki logo's kamikaze background. >: (

Same as the normal wiki logo/fanstuff wiki. 150x150? I don't know, I think somebody said that.

Ask IDC for the fonts.

Well, I only needed to know the font that they used. IDC says that it's Blippo Black, otherwise known as a pretty expensive font.

If there's anything that should be removed from the fanstuff wiki, it's the forum. Seriously, the only things anyone do there anymore are nonsensical forum games.

I think I am going to lock the Forum Games forum when Josh and Super Sam are away and view the ensuing drama.

And then Jesty can say:
Super Sam wrote:
I'm allowed [to] because I'm a sysop so there.

I'll then laugh, then never lurk that place again...at least until they have a layout that doesn't make my eyes bleed. Then I'll view it once more after that.
