This has more than likely been asked before, but how did you come to know about the Homestar Runner website?

Online. In another forum in which I roam, somebody posted a link to the "internet people" song on Youtube. I liked it and when somebody else found a list with links to every internet phenomenon mentioned in the song, Homestar Runner was among them. At first, I didn't like it, but I re-clicked all the links in the list about six months later, and suddenly, I was a huge fan of H*R. :D

Online. A guy on the message board I go to posted a topic called "let's play some homestar runner games!". The name rang a bell, as I have heard references before, so I clicked on it. The first game I played on there was Peasant's Quest. Eventually I went on to the main site to see what this was about.

Word of mouth. Just a friend of mine who had been going on about it for awhile.

I heard about it on a forum in 2002. This was pretty early in the site's history, and so a good number of the toons were the old, childish ones like The King of Town and The Reddest Radish. I'm not sure why I watched all of them, to be honest, but something kept my interest.

It wasn't until a couple months later that I even realized there was a SBEmail section. I saw the link on the board games menu, but I figured it was just a stupid feature to email strong bad and then get a cookie-cutter reply, so I never looked at it. Then when I was told about it, I went ahead and watched all of those. The newest one at the time was lures & jigs. So yes, this was before Trogdor came out and the website became more well-known.

Well, I'm not sure if it's exactly word of mouth, but I overheard my sister watching a TGS toon, and I asked her what it was and she showed me and then showed me around the website, and I've been hooked ever since. It started back in late 2004, around the time that email #118, VIRUS, was created and Strong Bad's Compy 386 was sent packing.

Someone on [ Forum Name Deleted ] posted a link to specially marked. So I watched, lol'd, and went back to posting. A few days later, another link to a different sbemail. Then I started exploring H*R, and found just how awesome it is. Not to mention, Stinkoman 20X6 gave me some cool ideas for a Roblox and/or LBP place.

EDIT: Crap, I had the wrong URL. Sbemail 194 is specially marked, not sbemail 192!

My brothers were watching Japanese Cartoon. I was really into anime back then, so it really amused me with how accurate it was. Then after a while I found it somewhat intriging, then one night I stayed up watching some of the old emails and toons and I was hooked. Good times.

I voted SBCG4AP, since that's what really got me to start watching it, but technically a friend had tried introducing me to H*R years and years ago, I just wasn't interested then.

My persistent friend tried showing it to me when the newest email was animal
and again when it was alternate universe
But I only got into it late 2007

A friend of mine always watches it, but THAT didn't get me interested...

Nintendo Power ran an article on SBCG4AR, but THAT didn't get me interested...

It was a list of Internet memes.

My third youngest sister showed me some Teen Girl Squad videos after her friend showed them to her.

Some students in my class in high school kept doing "lightswitch raves" so I wanted to know what it was all about.

I came home one day to find my brother watching "japanese cartoon" online. I was like, what the crap? But I just loved it. Then he showed me "english paper" and I was instantly hooked. I'm not 100% sure when I started, but I know that the scroll button song at the time started with "scroll buttons scroll buttons 1, 2, 1, 2"

Same here. When I saw internet people, I became an addict to that song. Then I started seeing everything mentioned on the song. When I saw Homestar Runner, it seemed familiar, and after a few time, I prefered Homestar Runner over Internet People.

6th grade science glass, about 7 years ago. Some guy turned to me in the middle of the test and whispered "Go to homestarrunner.com".

The teacher saw us talking, assumed we were cheating, and failed both of us.

Worth it.

My brothers and I were already watching other internet cartoons like weebl and bob, and somehow one of them found out about it, and showed me vampire. I didn't really get interested until the mid compy era, sbemail 70-80 ish. I just decided to try it again and realized just HOW unbelievably hilaious it was.

Reading the TvTropes Wiki I always ended to find H*R references.
"One day I'll go on it", I said.

Some days after, I was reading a magazine and in a corner I saw a 3D Homestar and this phrase:
"Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People, soon on WiiWare"

My thought was: "An Homestar Runner Videogame? ON WII? I MUST SEE SOME HOMESTAR TOONS ON THE WEB!"

And I ended being a fan and playing SBCG4AP, too. Altough my monetary problems make me download only the first three, but I have already enough Wii Points for the fourth.

Wikipedia. I checked out the 3 Biz Cas Fri things. Then I checked out HR.com later. And I got addicted.

I heard about it in 2003 or 2004, but my computer was slow and I didn't want to load something that was entirely Flash. Also, it sounded pretty stupid to me, a judgement I'd apparently based on the sporty sounding name and the fact that one of the characters was named Pom Pom.

Then one day* I was bored and looking for something new to watch. I'd stumbled across Wikipedia's article on the Brothers Chaps, and the concept that Homestar Runner was made by real people got rid of my aversion towards it, for some inexplicable reason. So I watched all the big toons, and felt pretty pleased with myself. Then I noticed that there were 155 Strong Bad emails.

Back in June 2003 I joined a forum (which I'm still a part of). There was a member named The_Cheat with a Strong Bad avatar. Then sometime in July (stunt double was the newest email) somebody posted a link to sibbie and I was hooked.

My brother showed me the Strong Bad Is In Jail cartoon back in '04 when it was the newest thing on the site, then showed me a couple sbemails, and I've been hooked ever since.

It started when my friends showed me Miniclip.com to me. They had a Rocketsnail.com game, so I went to Rocketsnail and found a 'Reccomended Links' section. I found Homestar Runner
there.

oddly enough, it started in Team Fortress 2. was in a custom map called "Bestinclass" where players were tested at thier skills with certain classes. but anyway, theres a secret area in the map with a disco club in it and one of the songs was trogdor. when i showed my friend deerboy he said "hey thats trogdor!" so the next day i go to youtube and search for trogdor and at the top of the list was the toon. but i thought it was somthing stupid so i scroll down and click on guitar hero. the song was awesome, and eventualy i got the courage to click on the toon. thats when i got hooked on the cartoons, and eventualy i went to the official site.

I first heard about it online back in 2002. I saw the old banner ad for the Strong Bad emails, but since no link was provided I had no idea what it was. It would go on like that for about two years (seeing the characters but not knowing who they were) until around May 2004 when someone on another forum I frequent posted a link to the email "theme park". It really didn't do much for me, but at least I knew where the characters came from. Around mid-July I went back to the site and watched the main pages and character videos, but again those really didn't do much for me. Then in late August I decided to give the site one more chance. I started with the Strong Bad is In Jail Cartoon and worked my way down from there, spending the day watching the toons themselves. By the time I got to the Strong Bad emails, I was hooked.

TL;DR version: I heard about it in 2002, but didn't check it out until 2004. I've been watching it ever since.

I can just about remember that it was from the 'Where the Crap Are We?' Macromedia Central easter egg, which I found on eeggs.com. I think it was a Google search later, and I was a fan.
