Maybe I'm just obsessed, but I wish TBC would give us some indication of what they're up to. Usually they'll at least change the sketchbooks or have a sale or something during long breaks. I see nothing to carry me through the dry spell.

(BTW, CONGRATS OBAMA!!!)

I have a feeling that this dry spell is almost over. They're probably working on something new as we speak! In the meantime, are you sure you've watched everything on the site? You could always look through the old sbemails and shorts to see if there's anything you haven't seen.

Then why don't we have a bubble reading, "toons return next week!" like we did in January 2007 and after the "Baby Break"?

They may want a nice long break. And furthermore, there's no guarantee they'll post "next week" announcements every time. It's just a courtesy announcement, after all.

This is a bunch of malarkey! This dry spell is really ridiculous. I understand the need to take a break, but the fact that they can't even post a thing saying, "Hey, we'll be back in a month or two, we want a break," makes me upset.

At this point, they need to come up with something real good. Or they can outrightly apologize for this incident. Like I said in another post, the most offensive thing on T*W*S*K*A*H*R is the fact that they haven't updated in quite nearly a month.

Yes, because there's totally a constitutional right to cartoons from them every X days. Yup, they should be ashamed of themselves for not updating the website that we totally pay for them to have. Yup, they've absolutely no right to a vacation. Let's gather up the pitchforks now!

Seriously folks: TBC have nothing to apologize for. They have every right to release their 100% free cartoons when and as often as they like. Don't like how slow they are? Feel free to quit watching. Either way, quit complaining. It's not going to update any faster because you whined.

Well, it would be nice if they would tell people when they will continue. I mean, that's not that much to ask, is it?
On the other hand, we still don't know what takes them so long. It's a possibility that they themselves don't know when they will be back. As I said in another post, there are plenty of possible reasons, negative and positive alike. And if it should turn out that it really is/was a negative reason, I think some people might regret some things they said.

I think you're totally misconstruing what I'm saying. First off, thanks for your god-awful sarcasm. I never said they have to put out cartoons every X days. What I said was that they should give us some warning when they get to a month without having made A SINGLE UPDATE.

If they've got bad news on the home front, that's aweful. We all hope that's not the case. But, I don't see that as a reason they couldn't even post a message saying "Taking time off," or "We'll Be Back," or something along those lines.

And don't tell me that I'm whining about it. I have the right to complain about it. I've been a loyal follower for quite some time, and then first we have sbemail200, then no sbemails, then we hit post-Decemberween and we have NO updates. If they're not going to make any more sbemails, fine! Don't stick it in a commentary where some people can't watch it. Not going to have any updates for a while? Fine, tell me! I'd rather not waste my time checking out their website, only to be depressed and disappointed because they didn't update. Just a note, that's all I'm asking for.

You complainers are really getting on my nerves. It's just a cartoon! They can do whatever they want! I know you want to know what's going on and everything, but seriously, find something else to occupy your time.

I don't need you to be so condescending. I don't need you to tell me what to do. What are you doing on a H*R forum dictating what I should do with MY time. I have every right to complain when they can't post a three word line saying "Taking A Break!"

It's sad that you have no compassion for understanding.

Yeah, I'm with Heimstern on this one: If you feel it's a waste of time, don't bother. As soon as they bring out a new toon of some sort, there's sure to be a thread made on the forum. Then, if you come from time to time to complain and/or post in other threads, you'll see there's a new one and can go to the website.
They can do whatever they want, seeing as they don't get paid for doing it. It's their choice not to make cartoons. They haven't always put up a message saying there's nothing coming for x days/weeks. So untwist your knickers and get over yourself. You think it's easy to come up with ideas and then animate them on flash week after week for eight years in a row without having a decent break in which they don't have to update?
Sorry, I'm being quite rude. You were only complaining that there was nothing saying they were taking a break, right? Well, seeing as this thread is brand new, one could already have assumed that they are taking an indefinite amount of leave without complaining about it. Maybe they didn't put up a message saying 'new toon next week' because there won't be a new toon next week. They rarely say anything more than a week in advance.

Umm....wow. Calm down children.

They've taken breaks like this in the past, and we've even survived the absolute horror of no updates for two whole months. (I know! GASP!)

Yes, you have every right to be annoyed/depressed/sad/angry/offended/easily distressed that they didn't update. But er...why waste the energy? It's just a cartoon.

If the negativity continues on the form, I'll honestly consider leaving. Sometimes fans really have a way of sucking all the fun out of things x.x

I'm not asking them to tell me a week in advance of when something is coming, I'm asking them to post a thing saying they're taking a break. If they'd put up a post saying, "We're taking a break," I'd be fine with that.

Why would you even bother making this statement? It's not an attack, I'm just curious. I don't even know what form you're talking about!

I still feel Wiki members could better spend these breaks by transcribing commentaries and resolving discussions. (I doubt they have the rights to repair mirrors)

Oh believe me, I'm trying. It's just so much harder than I ever thought. I don't understand a word when they do that simultaneous jabbering all the time. And even though I believe my English to be more than okay (understanding it is easier than talking), they sometimes use words I can't even find in a dictionary.
I guess I could continue proofreading the German subs... I just don't want the other guys to think I didn't appreciate their work. It's like I always find something. :-|
Well, I'll keep trying to be useful, be it at subtitles or commentaries.

Man... this is technically their job. Obviously if they can take a month off that means plenty o people have been buying from them (probably for Christmas gifts and such) and they're covered. If they need cash they'll have to keep making the toons... I have no idea how much moolah they can pull in off the store... but that's just how it is. Then again, there's also what they've been making off the SBCG4AP game. So they might be able to go longer.

But at the same time. They still see the site as just a site to put up their cartoons and they have absolutely no desire to feel like they owe anything to anyone. And they don't. It's just a flash cartoon.

Maybe they're working on something else for the site??

When I say form, I mean the HR wikipedia forum. (spelling error) And why would I make this statement? Well, I'm expressing my frustration with endlessly unhappy fans. I know I came off as harsh, and I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings at all.

I just sometimes wish people would give TBC a break once in a while. After all, they're giving us toons for free for crying out loud. Who are we to tell them what to do or when to do it? I mean, for all we know a family member could be sick or in the hospital. Maybe there was some other kind of emergency that came up and was, for lack of a better statement, none of our business?

They'll be back. Either way, I have confidence that they'll be back.

You're right, it is a free site, so we should give them a break once in a while. My frustration is that we don't know when a break is coming. They shouldn't treat H*R as the center of the Universe as it is here since this is the H*R*F, but it'd be nice just to have a note saying "We're on a break!" Just something so we know it's coming, and not ending up in the desert like we are right now.

Right. Well, I think we all would appreciate that to a degree, but really, they haven't even been gone for that long. I know a couple years ago around June, they didn't update the whole site for about two-three months. They gave us no notice whatsoever. But when they finally did come back, they made a "welcome back" toon "explaining" their absence. Here's the link to the toon if you wanna see for yourself http://www.homestarrunner.com/weclomeback.html

So, my advice is to try not to worry or be angry. As I said, they'll be back. :)

Wow, update whining and obnoxiously bringing politics where they don't belong. You guys are like VGCats fans! Only a lot less furry.

It may suck when they don't update, but it's better than them pushing crap out weekly. Just be patient.

All right, folks. This has gone on long enough. This thread has degenerated into a mudfest that's not going to continue. While it's true that the banning of the main pusher of the thread should do some to alleviate it, this thread really has no constructive purpose, so it's locked. To all who really want to post here, I suggest following Bad Bad Guy's suggestion and transcribing a commentary or something.
