There is a series of books about philosophy ie. philosophy of: Sienfeld, Star Wars, Harry Potter, South Park..etc (they even have one titled beer and philosophy whitch I think is about epicurianism). Anyway I couldn't help noticeing that there is no "Homestar Runner and Philosophy" and I think there should be. what philosophical issues do you think H*R addresses.

take the KoT for example is his position legitamate? is athority sufficiant to rule even if it isn't recognized? Isn't unrecognized authority a conflict in terms? is athority nessesary to be king, what qualities define "kinglyness".

thats just the KoT

does the Poopsmith resemble Camus' myth of Sisyphus?
is Strong Sad a Nihilist?
is Strong Bad an Epicurian?
are the Brothers Strong reparsenitive of Plato's three part soul?

What do you think?

It's pretty interesting to think about symbolism in Homestar Runner, even though it seems to all be unintentional. Somebody should write an essay or something. Somebody with a longer attention span than me.

Is the cause of the lack of arms on :hr: , :homsar: , :kot: , and :marzi: caused by a radiation leak or mercury in the water supply?

well what exactly is nothing? if you can't talk about nothing then what is sienfeld about? Seinfeld is something how can something be about nothing? Belive it or not the existance or non-existance of nothing is subject to much philosophical inquiry.

We can actually think of Strong Bad's similarity to Nietzsche's Uebermensch, since's got that violent attitude, yet I rather think that we can take more connections from Plato and his theory about the main virtues or so called Cardinal virtues.
First of all, we take :hr: . If you might have read the Simpsons Philosophy, you might have noticed the similarity between Lisa and :hr: Why do you ask right now. This guy's talking nonsence, and Lisa, Lisa's smart. But :hr: Has some Cardinal virtues. You might think that :hr: can't have the virtue of Prudence, then you are wrong. In "The Four Branches of Stupid Things Homestar's Done" we see that "sometimes Homestar does something so stupid, he flips back to smart." With other words, you can define Prudence as a virtue of being smart, by being stupid. Or "Dumb people act like there where smart, but sometimes smart people act smart too. But Only the smartest act dumb." Often we also see some acts of wisdom in Homestars action, but also we see the virtue of Humility, which is not one of the cardinal virtues, yet a very important virtue too.
If you want to discuss more, please e-mail me. I would be delighted. colinsbob@net.hr

The unstoppable force vs. the unmovable object.
Or rather, :sb: vs.
