Recently, the guy who maintained an RSS feed of official Homestar Runner content decided not to maintain it anymore, so I built our own:

Special:Updates

Let me know how it works for you, should you decide to use it.

You might want to update it a little.

What do you mean, update it? The feed is derived directly from the updates posted to the wiki, so if the data isn't current, it needs to be fixed there. Or do you mean something else?

I think this is a great idea! It'd be nice to be on top of things that are going on in the Homestar Runner universe without having to go to the knowledge base's Main Page every time, which is exactly what RSS is supposed to do! While I would have preferred something where the title of the RSS item wasn't almost the exact same text as the item's description, well, that's just a limitation of RSS.

Since I use Google Chrome as my primary browser, which does not currently support RSS, I am happy to see that you've have a CSS style sheet associated with it to make the raw RSS feed, as a comment says in the style sheet, "semi-legible to folk who accidentally load them in a browser". I thought XLST's were the only way to do something like this. Not to mention I've never heard of the "content" property in CSS. Anyway, this is cool. This is the first time I've seen an RSS feed have semi-backwards-compatible support with browsers that don't support RSS, but support XML, XLST, and XML+CSS fully.

Just a few little things I would change in the CSS file. I would get rid of the "overflow" property used for the summary element, and just have the "white-space" property set to normal. It seems to add a little unnecessary clutter to the overall appearance. Though this style sheet is also used for the Recent Changes feed, where these properties are needed for the table elements, it would be nice if you created a separate sheet, or some CSS3 selector if possible, to get rid of this in the Updates feed. Also, if the links could function in the "semi-legible" version, that would be great, but to my knowledge I don't think that's possible with the limitations of just XML+CSS.

Thanks for your suggestions. The updates feed plugs in to MediaWiki's built-in RSS feed generator, which is why it uses the style sheet it does. I'll look into it when I get a chance.
