I can't watch anything with the word crap or freaking in it. Could you guys make a list of some of the shorts and sbmails that don't say those two words? It would help a lot! Thanks!

Umm... Sorry. Most shorts do have crap and freaking in it, so I can't help you there.

Out of curiosity, why can't you watch shorts with crap/freaking in it? Overprotective parents?

Yeah, can't do that. My parents will think something is up. Just go through some sbemails or something, and list some down for me. It doesn't have to be alot!

Youi could also go to http://www.hrwiki.org, find the article for the toon you want to watch, and search the page for crap and freakin (no G so that it would include both freaking and freakin', etc.).

To search the page it's upin the menu: Edit -> Find

I hope your parents don't walk in on you reading this page. lol

No, but that's highly related to the problem. I've been watching Homestar Runner for over 4 years, and when I was watching sbemail202, and when Strong Bad said "crap", my mom heard, and said no more cartoons that say "vulgar" language. And I said, "But I've been watching it for, like, 4 years!" and she just gets mad and locks the name of the site. But, she locked "strongbad.com", not "homestarrunner.com" for some confusing reason. So, I can still watch it, cause she didn't really see any of the characters, so, ya know. And when I mention Strong Bad or Homestar Runner, she had no idea what I was talking about, so I'm good if I can just find some anti-crap/freaking episodes.

Thanks for those Google links, though.

That sucks. :\ Maybe if you watch it very quietly...

My Mom doesn't really approve of me saying "Crap", but she doesn't care if I watch stuff with it. Now if is was in elementary school... Oh man, she would've flipped out. If you can't stand to not watch certain toons, and she blocks it, use a proxy filter. I'm not telling you to disobey your parents, but I'm just bringing it up.

No, that's a horrible idea. Anyways, those Google links worked just fine, except for the "Weclome Back" cartoon, when he said "cuh-rap". But I saved some of the .swf files onto my computer, and I can live off of that until the new non-crap episode comes out. And, surprisingly, there are a lot of anti-crap/freaking episodes.

Well, you should obey your mom and dad so what you shouldn't do is wait 'til they're sleeping then plug in some headphones and watch for a while, then when you're done put the headphones back where they were before. ;)

Naw, I tried that once.

STRONG VADER: AH HA HA HA HA! That's so funny!

STRONG DAD: What are you doing up at 2 AM?

Yeah, don't try that.

Yeah, i've had similar experiences, too. Bad idea.
Especially because it's late, you're tired, so naturally everything is even funnier and it's impossible not to laugh.

You could just try reading the transcripts on HRWiki. I mean, it isn't the same, but you don't have to worry about people overhearing your Internet sessions.

Maybe it works for me because my room is downstairs and everyone else is upstairs. Plus, I think there's something wrong with me. I almost never laugh. I grin all during Homstar toons and movies, but I almost never laugh!

I have a similar problem. Other peoples laughter is the only way to make me LOL. My discovery of Homestar back in September 08 was a temporary cure, but it didn't last long.

How old are you? I'm going into ninth grade, and none of my teachers have problems with the word "crap." Crap isn't really considered a swear any more, just like how "sucks" made a big transition in the past ten years. Ten years ago, "sucks" was considered really vulgar, (the Brothers Chaps even specifically mentioned having avoided putting it on the site in the commentary for the theme song video!) and look how common it is now!

Once again, how old are you? If you're over 9, then you really need to lecture your parents about the First Amentment, censorship, and the cycle of profanity. Remind your parents that "crap" and "freaking" are the euphemisms, not the swears. Did you know that the word "jock" was originally considered profane? Wikipedia is your friend. Be sure to mention censorship of Renaissance artwork, especially the "fig leaf movement." Terrible infringement upon self-expression. Shudder.

And furthermore, out of all of the Flash cartoons out there on the Internet, Homestar Runner is the LEAST vulgar!

Um, let's see...

Here's all the toons with crap

And Here's all the toons with freaking

But uh... that's a TON of toons so um... I would buy a good pair of headphones, and convince your parents that other stuf is a lot more "vulgur"

Dude, I wanna laugh at you so much and at the same time pity you and the fact that you are blocked from the greatest website of all time. Oh right, the advice part.(thinks hard for many hours.) Well first, don't lecture your mom about vulgar words. That'll never work. Maybe buy her some jewelry. That should work. I could just get your parents a danish as a bribe. Tell them it was sent from Stiny and call it a day.

Wow....I can't beleive your mom (no offence) I mean,i'm 11 and my mom has heard strong bad say crap, and she says nothing. Even worse, she saw Homestar with glass stabbing his face in one of the sbemails, and didn't do nothing.

Well anyway I would suggest looking through each of the Hrwiki transcripts for crap and freaking. And also, tell her that there is much worse stuff than "crap" and "freaking".

Well, Scott Adams has the "Who Cares Most Rule", which states that the person who cares most will win the argument. You could be the preeminent naturalist in the field of domesticated mammals and the person who cares more that you will win the argument that dogs lay eggs, by making you give up. The point of this is, watch Homestar Runner cartoons at your local library. Unless it doesn't have Internet, in which case you may either commit hara-kiri or run away, depending on which is easier.

Dude, your (step)momz is teh fascists...
I agree with those who say you should confront your parents on the matter. There are much worse terms for the word crap, and in fact, I would be surprised if you were allowed to watch films rated PG these days if you're not allowed to hear it. And if you are 18, that really is cruel. I mean, at that age, in many cultures, you would be allowed to get drunk every once in a while and not care what you say, so not being allowed to say crap in a normal state of mind is unfair.
Also, what does your mom say when she burns herself accidentally? Eh? I'll bet it isn't "oh bother, not again".

What toon did your mom walk in on? Maybe it was the context, like "explicit breakfast-piercing bullets" in RRR movies.
