So, it says "Updated 9-7-10"

Can a sale at the store REALLY be counted as an update!? What the heck?

Yes, as much as I hate to admit it it does because WE HAVE A PULSE DOCTOR! there back baby! the hiatus is soon to be over!

While I still hav'nt given up on H*R updating I do have a slightly drepressing theory for the update:

TBC know that fans are getting angry about the lack of updates so they decided the make a tiny change to the site that requires as little effort as possible and try and pass it off as an update, I mean I can't ever remember a sale on it's own being counted as an update by TBC before right?

Sorry for being so negative but I could be wrong! I definatly hope so.

Very disappointing. I was excited when I saw the date, and I kept waiting for the update button to show the new content. Then I realised the "update" was a sale.

WE are the ones who called it an update, not them.

Um... Is this really how we are seeing this?
I saw it completely differently. They have obviously been unable to update their site because of telltales weird new game. Now with the games release so close, the game is obviously finished and they should be able to come back to work on Homestarrunner.com. I think they marked this as an update to kind of say,"We are back!". They would probably want to let us know they are aroundd before they have a whole toon ready to post. I honestly expect them to return to regular updates within the next few weeks. By the end of the month for sure.
Why just assume they are doing the bare minimum? I think they are sending us a sign!

A granola bar is not candy.

A merchandise sale is not an update.

I was pretty excited there for a minute.

It could mean a couple things.

1: them actually saying its an update to try and convey "OI we're still here, be patient, we'll get something up soon enough"

or

2: "We're clearing house, this sale is to get rid of as much old merch as we can so we can make some sort of a profit on them"

oh c'mon, bro. you know that they had time to update every now and again when they made sbcg4ap and there is no way a texas hold 'em game was more work than that. And yeah, I know they're working on that movie Monster Boogie or whatever, but why change it to say "updated" when they really didn't update. Its like lying about having children, or something.

I'm relatively sure the "Last Updated" sign is automatic. This isn't the first time the site showed an update after advertising a store sale (or similar occurrence). Just relax, and enjoy the ride. An update will come soon.

Nope. Before this it had continued to say "Updated 4-*-10" (what was it? the 12th?) even though they had a lot of sales. It just seems super bogus to me.

Yes, they have had sales between 4-12-10 and now but they weren't advertised on the main page button. Maybe whenever the main page message is changed the date is automaticly updated, it seems the most likley reason to me.

^ Nope, there's been many a sale that's been advertised on a main page button, and never before have they updated the "updated" date to reflect it. This was obviously a deliberate choice on their part. What it means, I have no idea.

I don't think it is really a big choice they made to change the date... having worked with web page design, changing a date like that is very easily missed, so maybe they just haven't thought to change it with small things like sales in the past, and they just so happened to remember this time.

I sorta think it is a "We have a pulse! " sign from them, and they will be back soon. (I would be surprised if they are not back in time for an awesome Halloween toon )
