What do you guys think? Halloween's pretty much the most important time of year on H*R.

I'm think if the the Bros Chaps are gonna make another toon this year it would have to be around now? Right?

I've kept checking back at HRwiki on a weekly basis hoping for a new toon. There's a new game with SB which is kinda cool but really, a new toon is what everyone wants. Right? Right.

So anyways, what do you fhw-guys think?

I think we're getting a pretty good indication here that TBC are done with H*R for the foreseeable future. I take them at their word that they're not done for good, but I don't expect to see any new content anytime soon. They haven't even bothered to link to the Punkin' Stencils yet, which requires no new content on their part. Today is October 20th and the latest they have ever put up the stencils is the 21st. So I guess that leaves one more day. But if they don't show up by tomorrow, I'm officially writing off H*R as done.

Nah, I'd wait for the 25th at least! Since Monday is when they usually update.

Of course, I'm still holding out for Halloween or the Monday after.

And if they're not back by then, I'm pretty sure I'll still be here.

I REFUSE TO GIVE UP HOPE. >_<

I tend to agree. The Halloween toon's probably the most popular and eagerly anticipated toon that the brothers do each year, and of course it was roughly around Halloween last year that they began their hiatus. If this Halloween comes and goes with no updates, then I'll consider HR defunct.

Man! This poll is close!

I checked it earlier today and it was even stevens, 3-3.

Now it's still even stevens, 4-4.

It's pretty much looking like it's over for Homestar. It's all kinds of lame in how TBC handled this IMO, ot the point where it's actually made me like the site less. I know it's with-in their rights to ignore the fan base and leave us hanging for a year, but it's still not cool.

I'm still hanging on to that hope that we get a ween toon, but really, not even linking the stencils? There's no way they're too busy for that. They're just ignoring the site.

Only a slight majority (10%) is sure or at least hopes Halloween is comeback time for H*R.

Seems seven people are convinced H*R is finished.

Although I'm still in that slight majority I too am preparing myself for the possible disappointment that might result if the new ween toon doesn't come. :-|

Oh. I voted "Break it" because I think if they don't have a new Halloween toon this year, they aren't coming back. Was that not right?

I mean, I'm still hoping they will. Should I have voted Make It in that case?

Yeah, that's why I voted "Dunno." Wasn't sure what the options meant. Glad I wasn't the only one who felt that way. People, I was born confused, and this poll didn't help.

I still check the Wiki once in a while, and I honestly believe if there isn't a toon up by Nov. 2 then I should just give up on H*R...

But I'm not going to count my chickens before they hatch. I still have faith...

I pray that tommorow there is a new toon. If there isn't...well....I think they may have called it quits. If they're gonna do something this year, It'll be tommorow. Come on, chaps. Your fans are counting on you.

Haha, personally I find this whole situation of the hiatus very interesting...

I mean, although I am still hopeful that something will be posted tomorrow, whether it's just a short "sorry guys!" or an actual toon, who's to say that just because nothing has happened in ages and might not happen for sometime more... that someday, in the future, it won't come back?

I'm sure it's not the end, maybe I am just putting blind faith into them, but they must know for a fact that we want toons, and isn't it common sense to keep your audience by giving them what they want?

They might just be working on games or whatever for now just to get some income for something, I think that we should hope for the best for tomorrow, and if nothing happens, don't get dramatic and call it the apocalypse... there are still many fans out there that ache for new toons, and believe me we're all just as bewildered as you guys are since they don't post updates... but maybe there's a good reason for that??

I would like to see a YouTube video from the Chaps just saying what's going on. It would take five minutes of effort on their part.

I'm 99% certain we won't see anything tomorrow, as they would have advertised it in advance and these things take time to make.

I could just picture it.

Old Timey Homestar dressed as Dracula walks by the screen and says "Don't give up."
And that's it

Haha, I'm not sure if that would make me happy or upset... or... confused. Maybe if Mr. Shmallow came on and was like "Look lively!" then... I would definately be confused... :P

Eh, I would think that is they were going to jump start things they would probably do it at the beginning of a year. That's how I would do it, but that's just because of the OCD Goblin that lives under my bed. And even if they don't start back up again, they still have given us a massive body of work. Think about it. They produced cartoons non-stop from 2000 through 2009, only twice taking a break that lasted longer than two weeks. That's insane when you stop to think about it. I think they deserve the long break they have taken. If it ends up being a year-long sabbatical to recharge their batteries, the H*R universe would have be all the better for it. If it ends up being a forever thing, then I say "thanks for everything, guys!"

Well said! And I like to think that if they do start again say next year or so, that the content will be even funnier as they've had so much free time to build on their humour - haha!

Um... there is also the reason that they are too busy to make cartoons.
Mike and Craig are writing Monster Safari and Matts voice acting for Poker Night.

Everyone repeats that, and yes, that is what they are working on. However, it seems highly unlikely, with no official word on the status of the main site, that there will be a continuation of Homestar Runner at the conclusion of the Chapmans' various projects.

You can't take people at their word, particularly when they have given no further indication that it is so. I don't for the life of me understand why the Chapmans still seem to have so much credibility when they really never even said so much as "Just trust us," which would have been disappointing enough.

EDIT: Sorry about forgetting the apostrophe in my quoted post. I hate making mistakes like that.

Which Chap brother is still in Hollywood, the one that does the animation /PbtC voices, or the one who does the voices/PbtC animation?

It's kinda hard to do a toon, especially a big holiday one, all by yourself.

I'm holding out hope until next July.

I'm sad that I'm flying. I was really hoping for a 2010 Halloween toon!

In my fantasy all-NES edition, I would have the following:

:hr: as Mario
:sb: as Star Man from Wrestling
 as the blob from A Boy And His Blob
:coachz: as a tall skinny hockey player from Ice Hockey
:cheat: as a mini-Kraid
:bubs: as Alex from River City Ransom
:marzi: as Bimmy from Double Dragon, with her hair dyed orange and combed forward into a pompadour
:sm: as one of the twin lion head / vampire boss thingies from Deadly Towers
:pom: as Kirby
:kot: as Dr. Light from Mega Man
:poop: as the Eggplant King from Kid Icarus
:homsar: as Ace Harding from Déja Vu
