...Unfortunately that sign of life was a swift kick to the crotch! Instead of giving us a toon or strongbad email they send this $20 calender. I can buy like 20 calenders with that kind of money. In all honesty I'm starting to wonder how much of an influence telltale games are having on the chapman brothers. I'm starting to think this hiatus was a marketing scheme by telltale to sell more of the "poker night at the inventory" games. So what are your thoughts on these startling accusations?

I've always thought that maybe the Telltale guys are holding them hostage, but that's me.

Where I live, $20 will only buy you half of a calendar, unless you're buying it midyear for $12.

As for Telltale, Homestar & Sam & Max are off the table until their Back to the Future & Jurassic Park games are done.

In addition to alerting you to all of the regular holidays, this calendar also lets you know which Strong Bad emails were released on what date.

That sounds like a note of some sort of finality. :/

I sort of interpreted the calendar as "Keep thinking of us, because we're not gone yet!" I mean, I still look at my 2010 calendar every day, and as long as I have this new one, I'll keep looking at it every day in 2011.

You know what would be a sign of "keep thinking of us, we're not dead yet." A message posted on the web site that says "keep thinking of us, we're not dead yet."

A new calendar at the store is a sign of "keep buying stuff from us; we're not providing new content but we still want your cash."

Does this mean we'll finally learn exactly when each Tandy Email came out?

I never bought a calendar before, but I'm definitely not buying this calendar especially. Before it was a lack of interest in buying the calendar, but now it's a specific, deliberate choice to definitely not buy the stupid calendar. I'm not supporting the site in a year when they haven't done diddly squat. The calendar should have Bubs with a speech balloon saying, "2010; The First Year in a Decade that We Don't Deserve Your Support In Buying Our Stupid Calendar" :bubs:

Bought the poker game tho :sb:

Oooh, a fancy new Calendar. Let me get right on buying that so I can watch another year pass by without any updates.

Tell you what, TBC: how about you start making content again and I'll think about buying a calendar.

I could not agree with you more.

The problem is that there's two sides to that. Say the calendar doesn't sell well. TBC could look at that and say "they must be boycotting us until we make a new toon, we should get on that". Or they could look at that and say "I guess nobody's interested in H*R anymore, we should go find something else to do".

Obviously those aren't the only choices (for instance, they could say "Everybody has a calendar, not buying a Homestar calendar doesn't say anything about people's commitment to the site one way or the other") but...

Or they can look at the forum here, and see that everyone is CRYING OUT for new content, and draw their own conclusions from that.

Yeah. I agree with you there.

I really think everyone needs to be patient witth them... they've been making these cartoons for free, after all. Yeah, I know they haven't updated for awhile, but we still need to be courteous, regardless. If they see this forum (though I doubt they check it often), then I don't want them to think their fans are ungrateful. (Although I would appreciate a written update from them as much as everyone else would... ) But, I can understand everyone's feelings. We all just miss Homstar and the gang...

That said, I don't plan to buy a calendar because I can't afford it... No moneyz left for it. I actually really wanted one, because I've never bought anything from the store. ):
