I heard from my friend that TBC are in production of a Homestar Runner movie? Is this true or is this merely an urban legend? Would it be on the site or on the big screen. That would be awesome!!!

Argh! Too many question marks!

And I really doubt it.

This is neither true nor an urban legend. It's just your friend makin' stuff up.

Lesson, never trust friends. They lie and then people think its true.
Look man, TBC won't make a movie because of an obvious reason:
ITS A SMALL INTERNET CARTOON, NOT A FAMOUS TELEVISION SHOW!

yeah...I HIGHLY doubt that they're going to make a movie. The closest thing we'll get to a movie is if they actually make a toon that's 10 maybe 15 minutes long. (That would be kinda fun actually. haha...)

But, yeah. I don't think that'll happen. Not anytime soon anyway...

Seriously doubt it. If they wont put it on TV, they deffinitely wont make a movie. And if they did, it would be a DVD they sell on their site, not the big screen. Kinda' like Knoxs Klayworld: Off the table.

Uhhh.... It took the Simpsons what, 17 years before making a movie?!?! And it hasn't even been realesed yet!!! And this is THE SIMPSONS wer'e talking about!!! Possibly the most popular cartoon of all time!!! TBC are likely to never make a HR movie. Nonetheless, if they did, it would be pretty much the [s]worst[/s] (lol napolieon quote!) best vidieo ever made.

I think it's possible that they'd make a feature length movie and put it on sale on the site, but it would never be released in theatres.

I don't think that will be in the cards anytime soon. It's a great thought, but imagine this. There would be pretty much no updates for at least 3 years!

Are you people even THINKING STRAIGHT?!?!? Do you realize how much a movie could RUIN H*R?!? Movies have a tendency to ruin what fans of a cartoon/comic strip hold dear (Garfield... I rest my case). I thought that a H*R movie would be cool too, but than I got to thinking that a feature length movie could easily ruin it, unless TBC Stuck with flash animating (no 3D CGI Crap!) and never concluded anything (No Homestar/Marzy Wedding, no explanation of SB's typing with boxing gloves etc.) which is not a good formula for a movie, it would have to be basically like one of their webtoons, only about two hours long, it would probably not get good reviews seeing as how the humor in H*R appeals more to geeks and nerds.

If they DID make a weird, "conclusive" plot, it would be jokingly.

"Alright, The Cheat, here's how I type with boxing gloves."

*gestures toward a large, Rube Goldberg-esque machine*

"Well, first, I put this little marble here, and it goes onto the gravity repulsor lift--Hey, The Cheat, where are you going?! You'd rather be at Homestar and Marzipan's wedding than see how I type with boxing gloves on? You know the Paparazzi is all over Homestarzipan more than Bennifer, Bradgelina and...Woody-Ling put together!"

That's actually almost plausible as a H*R script fragment! Except the relationships might be a bit too current... :P

There would be no way they could fund a whole 90 minute movie with just their tshirt and merchandise sales.
And I just don't think it's their 'thing'.

Just 'cause I was bored I looked up "Homestar Runner Movie" on Google. I didn't find much except this fan-made cover for one:

CLICK

And I also found this: Sonic Meets Homestar

CLICK

Listen people, TBC can do whatever they want. If they decide to make a movie, then that is their decision. A 90 minute movie would be a little annoying in flash, due to flash player's inability to fast forward/rewind, but it would still be entertaining.

I see some people dont think that TBC would be able to afford to do this. To anyone who thinks that: It doesnt cost anything to make a flash. All you need to do is go on the computer and start editting a timeline. Considering their flash library is full, they could probably do it within a few weeks.

And no, if they made a movie, it would not ruin homestar. TBC arent stupid. They know what is a cheesy money maker, and what is a good movie. At this time, they could be up to anything.

Sorry, I guess it was a little misleading. It's a Sonic video with HomestarRunner.com character voices. It was called Sonic meets Homestar on Google Search.

Ahh...ok. I see. It might have helped if I had the volume turned up.

Meh. It had a few good ones, but most of them were just random quotes. Too much inconsistency.

I am not completely sure, because I havent played SA2 in a while, but I'm pretty sure that you can turn subtitles off. I may be wrong though.

A Homestar movie would be a bad idea. It's just not the right type of.. thing... for a movie. People would probably get bored after half an hour, or something.

But look how well "Napolean Dynamite" did!
Seriously though, I think that a Homestar Runner movie would be a great idea. Who cares if it's not successful to the mainstream? I think that if TBC wanted to make a movie, they would do it well. Weither they put it on the big screen, or sell it directly on DVD from the website, it will be successfull in the eyes of themselves, and in the eyes of their fans. THAT is what matters.

You can't just say "okay, this movie is going to go on the big screen." Unless your company's name is PIxar or Panamount or 20th Century Fox. You have to go to independent film festivals, and hope that some fat cat is going to see your movie, call it a possibility, and then hope that you'll get a call back. And what was the last low-budget movie shown in theaters? The Blair Witch Project probably has about the same budget as TBC. And then there was Book of Shadows, which probably have scared the execs away from low-budget forever. Low-budget movies on the big screen are so incredibly rare, I can't believe so many of you think it's a possibillity.

they'd never get a movie into cinemas. so, they'd have to put it on the site.
some idiot's bound to say "a whole movie? on a website? that is so illegal!"

Of course not.
Nobody would see it because it isn't "mainstream" yet. With a TV Show it's fine, but something on the internet? It would never happen.

And if the movie was put onto the actual site it would be WAY too big of a filesize.

It's pretty mainstream, isn't it? It's more well known than the Over The Hedge cartoon strip, or so I think... that made a good movie.

But TBC have better things to do than work on a movie. To quote Bubs:

:bubs: That's just a pipe dream, son!

I actually imagined an entire Homestar movie in my head (leangth shorter than actual two hours) while the assistant principal was droning on about saftey, drees code, rules, and blah at a school assembley.

Yes, because we all know that Homestar is way more important than learning what to do if your school was on fire.

I wasn't be sarcastic or anything, H*R is way more important.
