Would a philosophical analysis of the Homestar Runner cartoons be appropriate for this wiki ?

I wrote a long analysis a long time ago for a Homestar Runner board that I can't find anymore, but I can try to write it again. I found an old reference to it on http://www.plainsman.blogspot.com/2003_ ... chive.html (under the header ""Yeah ... you're pwobably wight"", but unfortunately the complete article is no longer cached either. It looks like I'd have to rewrite it all except the two paragraphs quoted.

My basis thesis is that the main themes of HR are alienation (through social isolation) and communication (esp. communication breakdowns, media such as the SBemail and Marzipan answering machine), and that both are related to a certain extent. The pivotal characters of the comic are not really Homestar Runner (who is a pretty clear instance of tabula rasa) but Strong Bad and Marzipan (as unattainable driving force). Also (as in the quotes) that Strong Sad represents Alienation itself and Homsar is The Other.

My proposed structure for a philosophical page would be :

1. General themes of the HR narrative
2. Social power of each character
3. Analysis of the main character groups (HR & group, Strong Bad & group, utilitarian group, Strong Sad & Homsar)
4. Graphic of the social roles within the HR narrative

My questions are 1. is this appropriate for the wiki and 2. if it is, where should I put it.

I'm not sure about the actual wiki, as that is for just the facts. But you try to put it up on the Fanstuff Wiki. You got nothing to lose there.

Maybe he's writing an important paper for college or something of that nature. As to your question, I really don't know.

I would imagine that it would be accepted by the Fanstuff Wiki, but where to put it I really couldn't say. Ask a mod.

Pfft, no such need. I stumbled across it a while back and saved it to a .doc file. Do you want me to email it to you, or just post it straight to the board on your behalf?

DJ Soul Camel, that's great ! I would have a few new things to add to it, as well as a graph, so email it to me and I'll post it later. Could you send it in RTF format if possible ? Thanks.

I'm quite interested in reading your work. I read a book not too long ago about The Simpsons and Philosophy. I found it very intereseting. Please keep us updated on that document. :)
