Anyone see the latest Fanstuff? The basement of the Brothers Strong, done in Roblox? I thought it was awesome.

Link to the place: http://www.roblox.com/Item.aspx?ID=401146

It's got all the major areas of Free Country USA, and looks really cool. It even has the Compé, though I don't know why SB was playing Grueslayer...
Note: Don't enter the Photo Booth unless you get HamMan's VIP shirt.

As for me, I think I'm gonna try and make something in LBP. Maybe adapt a Player Tracking Device to make a HUD, then add in the Paintinator, and some other cool stuff... I'm not telling you what it is yet though :P

Edit: Well... since it's gonna be a while before I get around to making that LBP level... I think I'll try and make some Chaotic-type cards of some stuff from the H*R universe. So far, I've decided on:
*Creatures: Strong Bad, Homestar, and Stinkoman (the question is, which tribe should they be from? OverWorld? Or should I make up a tribe?)
*Battlegear: Lappy 486, Power Gloves, and Stinkowing
*Attacks: Burninate, Double Deuce, and ????
*Mugic: Song of Homsar, ????, and ????
*Locations: Strong Badia, Sweet Puttin' Cakes, and ????

I'm planning to make three cards for each category. The question marks indicate categories that aren't full. (Would something called "Sbemail Frenzy" count as a Mugic or an Attack?)

I made this for my Geometry online course I did back when I was in 9th grade last year. I also send it to the Brothers Chaps last year, but I don't know if they had a chance to see it. :-|

I've got nothing on me, but I've always wondered how the Homestar Runner characters would look if they were to appear to be drawn by someone else for, say, the Matt Groening universe. Their looks would be retained, but in a different way. I think it'd also be interesting if someone could pull off they way they'd look in the universe of Seth MacFarlane, what with the eyes and such.

You should check out Deviant Art - there's fanart there of exactly that!

I sent in a computer wallpaper I made for myself.

I drew the picture of Homestar and Strong Bad myself, but the background sketches are from the sketchbook.

Well, what I'm getting at is that they'd have a slightly unique style while appearing as "dumb animal characters."

I made a map of the entire Free Country USA for Little Big Planet. Can't record it though because I don't know how to without the stupid black line showing up.

Post subject:  Re: Did you send in Weekly Fanstuff? Post it here!

I've been going through the prep work for a cross-stitching project for a while now. It was inspired by the unused "Get rid of a few things!" animation, then I expanded it to all 12 main characters + Senor Cardgage (who I've considered the 13th main character for a while), then started adding backgrounds, and THEN decided to fill up as much empty space as possible while simultaneously representing as many aspects of the website as I could. And the result was this:

NOTE: There's a reason why many characters lack facial features and other details. I'll explain that soon.

Image

Image

Shown in two different sizes so you can see the pattern without blurring if you so desire. In a cross-stitch, every pixel is a tiny X (two diagonal lines of thread, one crossing over the other). It takes a pretty long time to do, because there's no fast way to fill a large area of one color. You have to make every pixel individually. That's why I filled the image with so much stuff - the only difference between doing a bunch of green in a row and a bunch of different colors is that you have to switch thread every once in a while. And even though it's really busy-looking and somewhat cluttered, I prefer having lots of stuff in the image over an expanse of green or brown.

So anyway, the reason that many details are missing here is because this doesn't show the backstitching. That's when you stray from the X pattern and put straight lines over the finished product, usually for outlining things. But it's also good for extra details, so for example, Bubs's larger eye and Marzipan's mouth will be done that way, because trying to do them in pixel art didn't look right. Marshie's entire face will be done through backstitching. I do have most of this planned out, as seen here:

Image

and here:

Image

That's the reason I didn't cover up the fence with the characters - Teen Girl Squad is drawn on the side of it. I think the only things I don't have backstitching planned for yet are Old Timey Homestar, all the Cheat Commandos figurines (Fightgar in particular needs the ammo belt), the Bear-Shark, and The Paper. I also need to make outlines for pretty much everything. Note how Gunhaver's hat is currently blending into the dirt and some of the other figurines are running into each other - outlines will fix that.

But yeah... this is going to be a really long project once it gets started. I do have a bad habit of planning things and then not actually doing them (or starting and not finishing), but I've worked on this pattern for a solid few weeks now and I'd love to see it actually get made. Until then, I'm taking advice on anything I should change about the pattern, anything I should add, and I also need to think of something to have printed on The Paper. The reason I put it there in the first place was to represent all of SB's computers, so I was going to put something like "Tandy, Compy, and Lappy say 'hi'", but if anyone has a better idea, please let me know.

Okay, these are pretty awesome. They remind me of I-Mockery's pixel posters, which are nothing short of incredible. If the cross-stitch thing doesn't work out, you can't go wrong with doing pixel art instead.

Probably not, it's going to be somewhat tough to find time to work on the stitching as it is. I might be able to do voicework though, because a few of my character impressions are passable.

Strong Bad and Homestar are probably my worst, which is unfortunate since they have the most dialogue.

Are there any WarioWare: D.I.Y. owners who tried to create microgames based on Homestar Runner characters? All I could find was one with the Stinkoman sprite.
