Maybe been asked before. Don't care.

If I'm trying to introduce a skeptic to H*R, what emails/toons would be a good place to start? "Animal" wouldn't be a bad introduction if it wasn't for the fact that SB's voice sounds totally different in this email...

edit: and I suppose the rather bizarre easter eggs on that email probably aren't great either...

Well, first the "First Time Here" thing.

I strongly suggest checkin out the Strong Bad Emails.

And this toon's not bad.

And this game's pretty fun. I mean, I played it.

Dragon is a real good one to show to people. Routine isn't too bad neither. And " a Jorb Well Done" is great too.

The first Stong Bad email I say was Sibbie, which was a good introduction. Other good ones could be Japanese Cartoon, or For Kids. Those are good ones.

I'd say start with First Time Here or one of the classics, like Dragon or Japanese Cartoon. Personally, I was hooked by Caper.

My introduction came in the format of my friend Dave doing his best Strong Bad impression (which is pretty good), reciting "new hands" to us at a bar one night. I went home and watched that email, and was hooked from there. TGS was what really sealed the deal, though.

i first saw haircut, and the various repetion of eyebrow styles was a good start. y'know, like the Gentleman Caller, Big 'Ol Eyebrows, Jagged Metal, etc... any email with that kinda stuff is good.

i think Bug in mouth disease would be a good start, because it has some great funny moments, andyou don't really need to have seen anything else to enjoy it.

I swear, I'll never click on that link again.

Here's what I recommend and what I'm about to try: A good Strong Bad E-mail would monument. I mean, it's funny, and it was the first e-mail I ever saw. Japanese cartoon is another good one. Don't know why. A good toon would be a A Jorb Well Done.

Oh yeah, and there's also First Time Here. Gotta click that.

Well, first, they should watch the character videos so they can learn about each character. I mean, the first time I've watched "Where's The Cheat?", I was like "What the heck is The Cheat?" and I thought that Strong Bad, Strong Mad, and Pom Pom were all part of a gang. After watching the character videos, they can watch some Strong Bad emails that don't include a lot of characters from other dimensions (a good example of this is english paper or dragon). They should also watch other toons that take place in the Homestar universe, like "Where's The Cheat?", "A Jorb Well Done", and "The Luau."

What you want to avoid are alternate realities. Those will confuse the newbies. Don't show them Cheat Commandos, Peasantry or 1936 first. It'll confuse their poor minds. And above all...
Never show a newcomer...

Definitely start it off with the First Time Here? short. And if TGS really seemed to seal the deal with some of you guys, Comic would be a good place to start.

go with any email SB gets in the time that he had the COMPY. For some reason, those just seem a lot funnier. He 's a lot more spontaneous, and it throws in more 'under-the-radar' humor; funny things that aren't the main idea, but you have to kind of look for them, or listen for them..ok i'm done.

Yeah I think dragon and japanese cartoon are good places to start. The process helps you understand the other emails better. Then start showing them normal toons. And yeah alternate universes confuse them if you don't show them the origin emails.

Emailing them a link to "dragon" is a good place to start. Hopefully they'll find "First Time Here?" and the characters' page for themselves.

Although I didn't find First Time Here till a month after I heard about the site.

"First time here"
ALL the characters' pages
One email from Tandy era(not homestar hair/and tape-leg)
one from Compy epoch(not theme party)
and one from Lappy time(anythings good)
Bug in mouth disease is a good place to start too

Well, I would send them the link to what you like.
This person is probably a friend of yours, so they probably have the same interests as you. Show them what you like, and then build off of that.
Or just show them "dragon" or "japanese cartoon," and completely ignore me.

Ding ding ding ding!

Yep. When I first saw the movie, I thought Circle K was a fake store. Then we got one here about 7 or 8 years later, and I was so excited. I was hoping strange things would be afoot there, but the phone booth stayed put. :((
