Id like to talk about this new rule, I hate it. Basicly everybody has to resize there banner (which I am curently working on)! What do you think of it?

Ya know what I hate?

The fact that I can't kill my neighbor. Seriously, he pisses me off and I should be able to strangle him and kick his dog's teeth out.

But somehow I survive. Just like you will.

Note: I don't hate my neighbor. He's actually a cool guy. And so is his doggie.

Yeah I'm not a big fan, but it's not my place to make the decision. I beleive that it should be at the mods descretion. If they see someone with a sig too big, just tell them..





Couldn't pass it up.

Hmmm....haven't seen this kind of rule made in a normal format phBB forum. At this other site where I'm moderator, it's the same exact rule.

But I'm just wondering, can we have more than one picture per sig? If so, would the 65KB limit pertain to the combined file size?

I don't really mind because I only had to trim some of the black from mine, but what does bother me is the fact that I had to get rid of my Roland avatar, for the file size was too large.

But I replaced it with a Cactuar, so I guess it's all right.

Doesn't bother me. My banner making capabilities leave me with no banner!

But I understand Seethro's comment about the neighbours. Ours had the cops called on them last night. You see, if I killed them and ripped their dog's teeth out (it's a nuisance that thing), there wouldn't be any furniture throwing, or door slamming or death threats.

And I dont even live in a bad neighbourhood!

I have to say I'm happy about the new rule. Yeah, I had to get rid of my JumbleCaper banner, but some of the sigs were a little ridiculous.

And Shishu, I don't think anyone's answered your question. You might want to PM a mod, but my understanding was that the entire signature was to be 100 pixels tall or less. That includes all pictures, text, etc.

You can have as many pictures in your signature as long as, combined, they do not exceed the maximum dimensions or filesize. In other words, yes, yours is too big.

Since I'm not really any judge of how big something is, how much smaller should I make my sig? Can anyone tell me?

Well, your banner is 127 pixels high, so the banner itself is too big, not counting the text underneath. In the new rule Stu said it should be 5 lines high.

Look at it... the image is over 100 pixels by itself, then you have several lines of text as well.

If by fine you mean too tall, then you are correct.

Read the rules again. 100 pixels high total means the images plus the text can't be more then 100 pixels.

I don't mind considering I'm too lazy to post images.

Hopefully, the rules won't get ridiculous here (I'm not saying they are). I don't want to leave the wiki because it's the best place to find easter egg informations.

I like the new rule. Some people's sigs annoyed me.

I changed mine, instead of just resizing. It's well within limits, and I think it looks just as good (or perhaps better!) as a larger one would. As long as there aren't any file-size rules imposed for off-site avatars, I'm just fine.

Oh, and I'd be happy to do banners and avs for other people looking for a similar style.

Oh well. I suggest everybody change their signature, cause I know from personal experience how annoying it is to change everyone's sig >>

Since several people have mentioned that they're not sure how big their sig could be:

Also, text is 18 pixels high in the default size, so subtract 18 from the height of the image for each line of text.

Personally I think having the rule is a good idea, I've seen some really huge sigs here... but 100px might be a little small for some...
But I don't make the rules
