So nobody started a thread about the bandwidth problem that this site experienced over the past few days, or can I just not find it? I'd like to know if there has been more bandwidth purchased for this month because if not, growing popularity + fixed bandwidth quota = longer downtime this month.

I really hope JoeyDay does something about it.

But you seriously might want to consider bookmarking the Fanstuff Wiki Forum. It's the only part of this place that isn't connected to JoeyDay's server, and therefore does not go offline.

I know me only being around for 2 months = not long enough to see anything statistically relevent, but at the end of april the wiki was down for a few hours, with a break in the middle. This month the wiki was down for 3 days.

With increasing wiki popularity, this trend is liable to continue.

Yeah. But this month has one less day, so that should help a little bit.

By advertising, you are opening yourself up to the same can of worms we are currently facing :)

Best of luck friend... best of luck

On Joey's site, he said he was hopefully moving to a more robust server (with presumably more bandwith) sometime this month.

Yeah, I read that sometime after that post. I sure hope all goes well so we don't have any more bandwidth problems for a while.

By all means go to a server with more bandwidth but if it costs you guys more money I'd feel kinda guilty.

I got it. The weird thing though I'm seeing posts in this forum from bandwith time and I couldn't get on this forum.

It's a good idea to change servers, but I hope the change doesn't take too long and the forums will stay up when it happens.

Your ISP was probably just caching the error page. Shame on them.

Bandwith limit exceeded. The wiki was out until this morning, right?

Well, if you are all afraid of this happening again, donate to the wiki so we can get a better server.

why does bandwith get renewed every month when the payments are made on the thirteenth? If I could donate, I would donate. I'm too lazy/probably not allowed to try.

Bandwidth is like cell phone minutes...you get 600 minutes a month, or in the case of a website 25GB a month, for example. On the first starts a new month and you get a new batch of bandwidth.
