Whlep, I can't deny it anymore.
Homestar's dead.
I always thought that they were just "getting around to it". But, with the shut down of their Twitter (which I might of caused) I think they just want to leave this behind them. So sbemail 206 isn't coming.
But, I do want to continue the legacy.
So, why don't us, the forum goers, pool our skills together and make a web comic series in The Runner's honor? It could be a spiritual successor to Homestar Runner, retaining the brand of humor which made it popular and even some of it's characters. And it would be much easier to make than a cartoon. I know this project probably won't take flight but hey, a guy can dream.
So, wadduya think?

Let's put one of those beefy arms back on for good measure.... :trogdor:

In theory, Senor_Cardgage, it might work. If, say, ten people were on board, then to get maybe one a week, each person would only have to do one every ten weeks.

But I think that those of us who were around long enough to appreciate Homestar Runner have kinda...grown up. For instance, I'm closer to 30 than to 20. Others likely have families. The priorities are such that *creating* stuff is way too much work; I've tried this sort of stuff before out of altruism but just screwed myself over.

I just like to watch, then re-watch, because there's so much content on the site that I can still get a kick out of it, so I don't feel a huge need for new content. I'll always be a fan. Some of those quotes are priceless, I'll replay em like 10 times in a row. To me, the benefit of new content is just knowing that TBC are still supporting the site.

I wanted to make it really, really easy for the person who does episode 2 to do a better job. That's also why Homestar isn't colored in. So go ahead, take my "graphics", add a body to Strong Bad, and continue the story.

Very smart thinking there, Gergall, and nice comic. Despite my experiences of overexpending myself for no gain, I'll admit I'm tempted.

You've got a point there Oxymoron Giant. I'm only thirteen though, so I'm just in the beginning of my 'We can change the World!' phase. Though we've already got an amazing first cartoon so who knows? And I also love going back to the site and revisiting the good times; I was just thinking we could continue the story. (Sorry for the late response; been dealing with an esgnsmploded graphics card)

Episode 1 has two things going for it:

1) So bad it's good
2) You can't help reading the dialogue in the characters' voices (admit it!)

No reason these two horses wouldn't carry an Episode 2 just as well. Come on people, someone wanna step up?

Don't know if I have the time to set up... but know that it makes my heart happy to see an active thread here!

GENIUS! This man or woman is a genius.

Anyone who dares to say they don't have time or don't want to put in the effort needs to take a serious look at episode 2 and tell me you honestly aren't able to keep up with the standards being set.

Well, we had over ten years of dragons, cheatcakes, shady businesses, email, dumb athletes, and loads and loads of precious crap. We'd all like to see more, but everything has to come to an end.

I know what you're saying, it just sucks that they abruptly ended it without an actual ending. I don't care how busy they are it isn't hard to make a 1-or-2 minute video saying they were done!

But, something else that amplifies the suckage for me (and other forum-goers I'm sure) is that I was never a part of those ten years. I started really getting into Homestar right after the beginning of the deadly death hiatus. Sure I can always go back and watch the videos, but I never got the chance to get excited every Monday at the prospect of a new sbemail, to send an email to Strong Bad with a chance of him replying, to feel the jolt of joy at seeing a new toon on the site. I was never able to watch the story unfold. Which makes me want to continue the story in any way I can.
:-(
Well, I'm gonna go get the kid equivalent of a cold one (High-C) and wallow in my sadness.

I only got into H*R a month or two before A Decemberween Mackerel was released. I'm actually a little glad that I discovered H*R later on, since the hiatus didn't quite hit me as hard.

I discovered it during the summer of 2010, and I've been a huge fan since, watching everything HR related that TBC ever put out. Holy crapcakes... did A Decemberween Mackerel come out over two years ago? Mon Dieu!

I think you just killed The Runner's Honor.

Maybe someone can revive it.

Episode 3 just one picture right? I'm not missing other frames of the comic?

Episodes 1 and 2 are humorous if you look at them the right way. I'm sorry but I don't see how Episode 3 provides any value (humor or otherwise)...unless there is more I'm not seeing.

I do enjoy your skills of an artist. Whatever you're doing to create those, they look-a pretty nice.

I've become one of those purists who can't tolerate fanart, fanfiction, different voice actors, different writers, or replacements casts, so I'll pass.
