| Post subject: | Is homestarrunner.com consuming your everyday life? |
Is homestarrunner.com affecting your everyday life? I've been quoting it pretty much nonstop from day one, and I'm sure many of you can relate. The thing is, lately it's been overflowing into a lot more stuff. For example, I no longer use the word "check" in anything I type online. A few days ago I replaced "check" with "chekt" and have done it since. Does anyone else have similar examples? Another one I can think of is taking part in ten step footraces with none other than the one and only ed "lim" smilde. P.S. I apologize if this doesn't belong here. Please move it if I'm in the wrong spot. I'm not sure where exactly it belongs. |

Well, I know the phrase didn't ORIGINATE at Homestarrunner.com, but since flashback, I'veb een using the phrase "I'ma" constantly- and I always try to incorporate a few Homestar quotes everyday where they fit in. I talk to myself in my Homestar or Strong Bad voices almost everyday to cheer myself up. The DVD and CD are both becoming centerpieces in my average summer day... I dunno- by the likes of what I just typed, Homestar has turned me into some dorky creep that talks to himself and stays cooped up at home all day. And- is that a bad thing? |

I definitely talk to myself in the voices all the time. Lots of people get mad because they think that I'm talking to them, but I'm really just quoting Homestar or Strong Bad. |

You guys don't have to think you're weird for talking to yourselves , cuz here's what I do: I talk to my stuffed animal of Strong Bad! I even play board games with him.

well they made a related thread about this, but everynoiw and then, i'll say 'grood' or 'problematic'. But actually the wiki forums take up more of my daily life...kind of sad, but i find these forums to occupy my time well. |

Stuffed animal SB, Princess? Where'd you get THAT!? I bet it would be hard to get your hands on. Why would you go to such lengths... Then again, I shouldn't be surprised with YOU.

Of course, I shouldn't be surprised with YOU. i bet you sleep with it every night, too... (I'm not being mean, if it comes across that way. Just picking around a bit! )I made him out of felt. Yep, I hug him every night, too.

Hrrm... I edited my post after you quoted me- You might wanna change that- then again, it doesn't really matter. So, you made it yourself. That's cool. offsubject, but I think they should put the Kick the Cheat Plushie back on sale, and make a Homsar plushie that, when you squeeze, can spurt out 2o different nonsense phrases! Toastpaint... Another way Homestar as taken over my life is that it and the wiki and the wiki forum, besides Bob and George, are the only websites I ever take the trouble to visit anymore. I think my limited view of the intrnet nowadays is a big change its made... |

Its starting to take over my life. The friend who was begging me too watch it says im obsessed. I don't watch as much as I crazily used to, but I watch some now and then. Its on a crescendo again. School being over for the year today doesn't help. |

The worst part for me is that I can still go and spend over a half hour on homestarrunner.com on any given day, despite the fact that I have seen everything on the website at least once, and most things twice or more. |

Yes. The quotes use their way into conversation and the Fanstuff Wiki consumes most of my computer time. I don't visit the normal website too much though. Usually only if something new comes out or late at night when I'm bored. And then occassionally during the day if I feel like it, but that's rare. |

Has H*R taken over my life? Yes, of course it has, meh! I have to use a random quote (with voice) at least twice a day. I have constant conversations about it. I'm obsessed with Homestar Runner and the crew, and I'm proud of it! |

My problem is that I spend too much time here. I mean seriously, when I'm not in school I have a lot of free time, and I spend most of that time online, usually here. I do spend quite a bit of time at homestarrunner.com itself, but only when there's something new. I don't quote the site very often when I'm talking to people, probably because I don't talk to people very often.

1. I know that Melonade is entirely different than Lemonade, but amongst my H.R. friends at school, Lemonade is no more. 2. They Might Be Giants is now one of my favorite bands(thanks to strong freaking sad) 3. While in private I recite all sorts of stuff; emails, toons, shorts etc 4. Unofficial "Pom-Pom club" has been started @ school. Don't ask 5. I quote toons/emails etc. When people give my blank stares, I give them blank stares back. 6. etc... |

It's worked its way into my subconscious. "Jorb" isn't even a reference anymore; it's just another way to say job. Same with thier other nonsense words like "prooty", "grood", and "excardon". |

Yep. It has. Dramatically. I'm obsessed, I quote H*R all the time. I try to spread it amongst my friends. I talk about it all the time, and the weekly updates have become typical dinner conversation (although it annoys the heck out of my family). Yep. It has. |

Just a quote every now and again, but no one ever knows what I'm talking about. Now that uni is over, the forum will now be comsuming my life. When I'm not at work. Work is consuming my life... end of story. |

My best friend is starting to get annoyed with all the hr references I make on a nearly daily basis. My first week off of school consisted entirely of e-mail watching. I've encorporated I'ma, no probalo, and preeow into every day conversation. But no, I don't think I have a problem

I don't say haldo! I do say goozack instead of door sometimes. Aww man I actually saw Homestar consuming my everyday life. He just went up and start eating him. It was horrible and scary. |

^ I say "Haldo!" to my friends all the time and they just look at me weird... XD I do find myself quoting HSR a lot, but the problem is that because barely anyone I know have actually watched it like I have, they don't get the references. I think they've got the hand of "Great Jorb!" now...

Everyone in my school (apart from one person, who I've forced to watch funny toons,) hates H*R. But. i quote it alot... No-one understands, Or they just insult the website 'cause I'm quoting it. |

I dunno, but I use too many quotes, and I almost called my cousin Terrance, Sterrance the other day. XD I also like some TMBG too. I love the song "Experimental Film," and I heard some wacky songs on the show "Kablam" on Nicktoons. They're weird, but they're pretty good. I should listen to some other TMBG songs too. |

Homestar Runner is taking over my life indirectly. This forum is taking over my life! The botfriend has even learned some of your names just from me talking about this place. |

HSR has taken over my life. It's, like my only friend. I have none, because I moved here a month ago, and im so freakin shy But, seriously. I feel guilty if I don't feel like watchin some of the toons, or if I think something on the site is boring... pretty sad if you ask me. But, I love quoting it to my pals that live where I moved from. Mainly, because they all get it, and know about it. Being obsessed has it's ups and downs. Mostly Ups though! |
