A forum merger wouldn't be all that bad. Yeah, there'd be some adjusting, but it's kinds like a cellphone co. merger.

I think we might have to lower our standards if we make .net a forum again. There was some cussing and other things we frown upon at .net

Whoa. It's you. I thought you said your spam blocker blocked this site.

Toastpaint.

It would be cool if the Brothers Chaps made an intro for us to put on the site. They know we exist.. so... ok, its unlikely. But it would still be cool.

Heh, JoeyDay activated my account. It would be cool if the Chaps would do a cartoon, but that is unlikely, and I wouldn't be comfortable asking them to.

If anyone asks them, it should be JoeyDay. Admin power!

Just re-direct it to the wiki. That's the only sensibile thing, and it's the main part of the site. We don't need another forum, we don't want to ressurrect H*R.net, we just need a redirect. To the wiki.

I don't see why we couldn't just go with a random redirect to any of a set number of H*R sites, like the Wiki, H*Rules, BHZ, and whatever others there are.

If that's not possible, I say we go with the index, just create a big page with links to all the known H*R fansites and a brief description of each. I think that makes more sense, and would please all the H*R fans who don't exclusively visit the Wiki.

I think we should setup a random redirect until we get the portal up, that way you're not always taken to the Wiki.

That's a pretty clever idea, for now. I'll go with that. At least until the portal gets up and running.

They. I mean the people with control over the fate of Homestar Runner and the new .net domain. A spinoff of Homestar Runner would be awesome!

It doesn't have to be a spinoff, but they shouldn't waste the .net domain either. A kind fan donated that to us. Shouldn't we use it for more than redirecting to the Wiki??

That is probably the best thing to do until we get a portal. I highly doubt that TBC will accept the domain, or make a cartoon. They said in their FAQ that they don't make flash cartoons for anyone else.

Ah, but they did a sound bite for BHZ. I think they might make a small catroon or something. But mostly, no matter what we do, they'll leave it be.

The people are pretty much us. JoeyDay officially owns it, but it's the wiki's. A spin-off would probably be illegal, and this whole thread is about what to do with it so it doesn't just redirect to the wiki. So as you can see, we are using it to do more than redirecting to the wiki. problem solved.. except what to do with it. (Though the portal idea is probably going to "win")

Yeah, the portal idea would probably be best, that way new Homestar fans can find a community they fit in. We have to make sure that the portal will be user-friendly for newbies.

I REALLY like the my.homestarrunner.net idea. It gives me the Jibblies. In a good way. So the best thing to do would be the portal/my/blog. I love it. I'm getting really excited with the possibilities.

I have a big problem with this statement.

Please do not talk about what .NET was unless you really know what you are talking about.

So they are making it a portal... sorry, but what does a community portal do?

i dunno what a community portal does...

but i know i could lend a hand in the flash department (i'm a graphic designer/flash animator of sorts...)if need be...

something short i suppose and then a redirect.

i personally like the "it's dot COM!" thing that someone mentioned earlier...

What's really hilarious is the page title.

We're just gonna put some links and stuff for homestar fans who type in that URL to locate fansites and forums easily.

And I posted the idea originally. Muhah.[/moment of possesiveness]

I can make a super cool midi of an H*R song that can played on the page! I'll make millions!

Obviously, you would have to turn on the music manually, otherwise people listening to stuff on their Compy's would get mad.

"thinks about Stinkoman theme song midi"

Or a super cool remix of a song that can be p[layedx on the page! That'd also make millions!

Whaddaya think, huh, hu, HUH?

Actually, I dislike them too, if you can't turn it off (I prefer them to be off by default)
