I disagree. It would be really, really weird if the descendents of Mike and Matt and Missy (and Jackie) carried on after any or all of the aforementioned had corpsed it. Though I recall that Jaz Coleman has proposed something similar to ensure the immortality of Killing Joke

As for this forum, anyways, I say 5 or 6 years afore the server kicks it. But all y'alls regulars will somehow keep in touch (in a Kevin Bacon-y sort way, maybe), while us Lurker Dans like me will just hafta find elsewheres to grunt and jabber.

I am gonna say five to ten years because it feels like if homestarrunner keeps expanding then we might have to all migrate to another server and start anew with a new forum... Hrwiki2 possibly?

I'm pretty sure if Missy died, the Brothers Chaps would be so heartbroken they'd stop making 'toons. At least Missy's husband (don't remember which bro) would.

Jeez, some of you guys act like all they are are voices and animators. And like "Oh and if one of them died we'd lose so-and-so characters, but the others will be able to keep it going with the remaining cast..."

It gets annoying.

yeah... what brings people here is the fact that we all like homestar runner so you check out the wiki... then you find the forum, and start to discover what else people share in common with you. Homestar is just the starting point, the common base that we build off of.

as far as the lifespan of the homestarrunner.com... i just can't imagine a monday where i no longer zip over to the computer to see what updates are up. i mean... we survived before the site, but now that we have all seen it, i think even if it ends, if the forum ends, if it all just goes down as "this big flash revolution that happened once on the internet a while ago" we'll kinda have an empty space... but we'll look back on it and be like, yeah i was in this CRAZY forum once, and i helped run this fansite called the Homestar Runner Wiki... it was some good times... oh man, i'm foggin up jus thinkin about it... I LOVE YOU GUYS! *group hug!*

(yeah, so what if i only been here a month... shhhh!)

You'd be surprised. I've been a member of a Pink Floyd forum for some time, and you know PF, they don't do much. A Roger Waters tour here, a Dave Gilmour solo gig there, a reunion one-off now and again. But they're not really very lively boys. Anyway, despite this lack of action we've managed to sustain a thriving social scene for some time

Probably about six more years. By then Homestar Runner would probably be gone for about a year and the cost of the server would be too much for us.

Yeah, this forum will probably outlast H*R, as it's a place for people who like H*R to come together and chat about stuff. Sure, the updates are an important part, but there's also the community aspect. Personally, I will find it very sad when this forum dies, as that will mean that I'll never get to talk to any of you again, and I'll be forced to get a real life.

Maybe I'll start another forum that we can migrate to when this one dies. :p

Man, it's like a whole 'nother world in here, with people I can relate to. My only hope is that I can finish off my fanfic before the end of the wiki.

I might join. It might (definatly) wont be as good as this because of all the people that will not bother and just quit.

I hope i manage to stay here until the end. I'd hate it if I stopped for a while and while i was gone everyone left or something.

I love this place! It's so... happy here.

This is also the best forum I've ever seen. There's no cussing (except for "crap"), and you're not allowed to insult other posters. This forum has much better censoring than other forums. This is a great place!

As that Beatles song Don't Pass Me By goes, "...I'd hate to see you go." That's how I feel about this place. I'm going to stay here as long as this place is here, even if I wind up as the only person here. I'll never leave!

Anyways, I think Homestarrunner.com and this place still have at least several more years of life in them. We still have a while, but I want both places to last FOREVER! Even though that'll never happen, I can always dream. :)

I may be new, but I won't leave this forum until H*R and the wiki and the forum dies!!!!! It would be really sad if this place died. I mean, I know I haven't been posting much or making much of a name for myself or doing anything really noteworthy lately, but it's so much fun. I don't really discuss H*R much (coughatallcough) on here anymore. I think it will die when H*R dies, because, you know, there's no point in having a wiki for something that will never be updated anymore, and no point in having a forum for a nonexistant place... but maybe once it dies we can all migrate to a different place, because now that we've all met each other, being separated would be so hard. :) The Homestar Runner Memories forum?
