Who else thinks that the quality of the toons and emails are going down? They aren't very bad, but they definitely aren't getting better or as good as the older ones. The Halloween toon was such a dissappointment. Who thinks they've passed their prime and it's only going down from here?

Well, to each his own, but I think you'll find that most of the people here, at least, will disagree with you.

We wouldn't devote so much of our time to a knowledge base devoted to H*R if we didn't think the site was any good. Personally, I think the new toons have been much better than the older ones. And I thought the Halloween toon was one of, if not the best Halloween toons yet.

I voted "Getting Better," by the way.

Not at all. Some of the old classics may seem better, but trust me, the new ones will be considered classics after a while.

After thinking for a while, I voted "still good."

Homestar has always been good, and I don't see the decreasing in quality. I agree, the Haloween was a slight dissapointment, but only slight.

EDIT:Never mind about what I said about the ween toon. BEST WEEN TOON EVAH!

I agree with Jitka. This was probably the best Halloween toon ever.

I don't know if the site is necessarily better than ever, but it certainly isn't noticeably worse. Maybe slightly worse (though still very good) quality SBemails, slightly better quality toons... it evens out. Still good is my vote.

I voted getting better. The improvements now are probably slight, but its still getting a little better with every toon, and certainly far from worse.

I said it was Still Good.

I mean, The halloween episode was Best Episode Ever, but the SBEmails are starting to lose quality.

But not by much.

Still good. The SBEmails are getting kind of tired( and I'm getting kinda tired of SB ) but the toons are better than ever.

The only thing I'm getting sick of is Strong Bad's cliches in the emails. But the overall quality of the site is just as good as it ever was, if not better.

Homestar still has its charm, even though the SBmails have kinda gotten worse. I almost thought H*R was losing quality, but the Ween toon was marvelous. I voted Getting Better.

Topics like this are the reason TBC don't read message boards. I think it's getting better every day, and after the 120 - 130 Sbemail dry spell, they're getting better as well.

I guess i'm a tough critic. It's just that I didnt laugh at all in the past 2 emails and only once in the ween toon.

Well I have noticed that during the Lappy era, almost every email has an even number of lovers and haters. In the Compy era there were a lot more universally loved toons. So I'd say it's declining slightly, or perhaps simply going for a more niche, less universal type of humour.

I personally don't believe that it's losing it's charm. Maybe the charm is changing a bit, or your sense of humor has changed. I think it's great, and will keep on getting better.

I think it's as good as it was a year ago... and that about a year or two ago it started to noticeably get better... and now it's kind of leveled out. You see, the only thing that is really getting old is SBEmails, because a lot of the best questions have already been asked and the well will "eventually" be dry. This is why I think TBC has been doing a lot of different things from SBEmail lately (that and the DVD). Yet, the most fun part of H*R is or was SBEmail. Because you actually become a part of the site by asking the question and creating the bases for an entire toon! When that is finally gone, the site will eventually become a little less popular I think. Unless TBC think of something else that allows more interactivity with the fans and the toons.

But ya know what? Think of this... in just the last year and a half we've had a BIG JUMP in quality of games like Peasant's Quest and Stinkoman 20x6... we had a live-action little film that TBC made that was amazingly funny (The PQ Movie Trailer)... Lots of good emails like do over and rock opera, etc. More puppet stuff (biz cas fri)... Trogdorcon 97, Cheat Commandos in the Classroom, Teen Girl Squad Tenethenial Extravaganza.... yes, lots of good stuff lately especially.

The emails are the only thing really getting old... changing the computer every so often helped refreshify the experience. I was more fond of Compy because that's when I started watching them, so Lappy just always kind of turns me off. But overall the site is still the same as it was. I think TBC need to do something to make the sbemails more fun... maybe change where strongbad answers them to the couch or something with lappy. He doesn't HAVE to sit at the desk anymore ya know.

I voted 'getting worse'. I think the quality is really going down to be honest. I used to rush to the compy to check if there was anything new on the site, and now, I couldn't care less.

My brother told me there was a new strongbad email. Oh how the tables have turned.

No way it is not they are going through the roof i really like the new email
"Space Program" and they just added a new DVD "Other Stuff Vol 1"
So that really means people are voting Still Good they have enough money to make copys and copys of DVDS everyday the support group is very large now and i thought the halloween one was very good we don't get to many Game cartoons so i vote STILL GOOD

I voted "Getting Better", because it is. The 'Ween toon was pure awesome, and the new Sbemail was great as well, and Bad Guy was just...wow.

Definitely getting better. Keep it up, TBC!

The only thing I don't like about the site is that TBC has been doing a lot of drug references recently. Has anyone else noticed this?

Well, I really don't think that cigarettes count as drugs, per se. I know they're bad for you, but they're still legal.

If they were talking about marijuana or something I'd agree, but cigarettes have been around the site for awhile. Heck, one of the oldest games on the site is a game where you help the Cheat quit smoking.

What are you all talking aboot? This Halloween cartoon was the best one ever. TBC are getting more creative. Space Program was the best sbemail in a while. The website is getting better.

I think that the site is getting worse, but that's because my sense of humor tends to gravitate towards more subtle, character driven wit based on taking a generally goofy idea and just running with it. Lately I think the site has gravitated towards pop-culture references and slapstick with less emphasis on the characters. For example, compare the toon "interview" with the latest Halloween toon. In interview, the humor is completely based on Strong Bad and Homestar's inherent doofiness. The whole thing is just them talking basically. In the new Halloween toon you have stuff like "under siege 2 collector's spoon" and Coach Z saying his life is ruined. Its a little more in-your face and for me, a little depressing. The quirky and unique charm of each character is slowly taking a back seat to obvious jokes and reference-based humor.

I voted "still good". Homestarrunner.com is still riding an unprecedented wave of awesomeness for a web cartoon.

I completely agree with that, and that's why I think it's getting a little worse. I still don't think the ween toon was very good, and you can't say it was creative because they already had an interactive ween toon. I think a lot of people agree with me, but all of the people on hrwiki are such loyal fans that they would never say anything bad about the site.

I dont think its going down at all, in fact, i think its getting better. What with that long stream of all good toons, the MS paint, the tenthennial TGS, and the kick-butt halloween toon, yeah its definitley getting better.
