Does anybody else think it's lame how Strong Bad sounds really hysterical all the time now? In all the new emails after about 120 he talks in this irritating, high pitched, overly-excitable voice. I thought he was a lot funnier when his speaking style was more subdued. For comparison, look at the email "Portrait" and then watch something from about the 70's range. Or, for an even clearer example, watch the fan costume commentaries from both 2005 and 2003. There's a stark contrast, and I think the old version is clearly of a more endearing, funny, and less in-your-face style. |

Well, maybe Matt decided to make Strong Bad's voice higher to het him all up in your face. Though I really don't notice too much of a difference. I definately don't think Strong Bad has become lamer though. Is lamer a real word, or did I make that up again? |

Lamer, Adj: to be of or more lame. I really see very little difference in the voices. I think it's just some sort of mss hysteria that only effects you. |

I have said this before in discussions scattered around the forum (discussions of certain emails and stuff.) In a way, it's just because his voice has been constantly evolving, as he started out really dark and overdramatic (Marshmellow's last stand.) LOok at how much it's changed from those very early cartoons. Now some change is good, he definitly sounded weird back then. But I think Matt has gone too far with it, and now it's just too high-pitched. In some e-mails, SB sounds positivly squeaky. Also, his "accent" has become less and less pronounced as they go along. I hope Matt will eventually back his voice down a bit. |

Yo. Just watch the fan costume commentaries from 2003 and then from 2005. You'll see how much of a change there is. There's no denying it. So that eliminates the "I don't really think there's a difference" argument. Peeeeeeaaaaaaaace. |

PS. Ramrod, definitely is spelled with an "I," not an "A" as in "definately." |

Well, first off, let me say this to DSFF, spelling's not exactly my strong point. But you understood what I was saying, and that's all that matters. OK, I've listened to both Fan costume commentaries, and there is a different in his tone. But I don't think it's anything too bad. |

It didn't bother me until you pointed it out. And now I agree, his voice does get really high in recent toons and now its REALLY annoying me. Thanks a lot. |

I've noitced this as well, however it only bothers me when Strong Bad acts loud and incoherant. Its annoying when Strong Bad seems to fall into the same madness that the other characters live in (as seen in email #75). He's best when playing the straight man. |

I think the older low-pitched one did fit his character more (and was overall kinda better), but I don't care about it much. The change is not THAT drastic. |

Is lamer a real word, or did I make that up again? While lamer may or may not be an actual word, I am pretty sure that het isn't. (Unless you count dialectal variants)

You know Stu, I saw that after I posted, and I was wondering who was going to be the person to see it. Congratulations. And yes, dialectal variants count if they help me. |

Then I am sure that lamer is a word (Gamers have their own dialects... right?) |

I've noticed it a bit, but I dopn't mind. I still think it fits his character, mainly because that's what his character has been like for so long, and it's been gradual. |
