I see it... but I don't remember which was released first... I think it was Zoloft, and it wouldn't surprise me if that is what his head shape is from.

I never saw a Zoloft ad before I knew of the site, so when I first saw one, I was like, "Ah, nothing brightens up an ad quite like Strong Sad's severed head." And then when i found out it was an antidepressant that was just gold.

Zoloft tastes horrible. Yuck. But toastpaint(Which probably tastes better. And no, I don't chew it, I'm not an idiot.).

I think it's just a coincidence, but I do see the resemblence. It's possible that somebody copied somebody, i just don't see it as very probable.

i would think that zoloft had it first and Craig Zobel(inventor of Strong Sad) thought it would be a good idea for a depressed character's head. It just kinda makes you subconciously assiciate his physical appearance with sadness...maybe...

I'd never noticed it before, but, WOW!!! Yeah, they do look alike.

That's kinda interesting. The commercials had been on a while before I found Homestar Runner, but the site had been around a while before I started watching, so it's hard to say.

I'll buy into the idea TBC could have based him off the Zoloft guy deliberately. If it's a coincidence, it lines up just a little too perfectly, don't ya think?

yea, it looks a bit too perfect. compare that with  . its just too similar to be coincidence. Matt and Craig probably made it that way.

... Matt and Craig? Who's Craig?

Anyway, yeah, they do look similair. It's basically just what it looks like when you draw a circle fast. Try it.

Craig Zobel. His initials inspired Coach Z.

Oh yeah, I kinda remember that guy. But he didn't have anything to do with the designing of Strong Sad's head. So I temporarily forgot. Or something like that. Um...

Thank Heaven my depressive episodes never last long enough to require medication...never thought that the zoloft guy looks like Strong Sad. There's NO WAY the company would have done that on purpose, but I wouldn't put it past TBC.

I always thought that the Zoloft guy looked like SS, But I seriously doubt that TBCs creation had anything to do with the design.

Here's what Strong Sad would look like with the Zoloft guy for his head. I think the Zoloft dude is a bit too real.

I think I like him better with a Zoloft head. :p

Actually, come to think of it, I wouldn't at all be surprised if TBC used the Zoloft egg as a head model, especially considering what Zoloft is for.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw one of the commercials. I'm not sure if that be a coincidence or not. I say TBC meant for them to resemble because the older version of Strong Sad looks even more like the Zoloft guy.

I hadn't even thought of that! I guess that could be where it came from, but I think Homestar Runner came out before those commercials.

i did research

Strongsad did appear in Super NES in 1996 before the Zoloft Guy was around but then he was flesh colored.

The zoloft guy appeared 1997-1998 (an episode of Mad Tv circa 1998 spoofed it)

Then in the cartoons for the website he is white like the zoloft guy
