That isn't entirely logical. You'd assume orders would continue up to the 8th, and then you have to process them for a few more days, then get back to making animation, then release it. My money is on a week after that- but anything is possible.
...
I do know alot about creative passion. I've got a hobby I enjoy doing- that I'm passionate about it. I've dedicated years of my life to it. Would I be willing to sell it if I had the freedom of doing something similar over from scratch? absolutely.

If I had to sell it and was never allowed to pursue my hobby again in any form, then I'd be hesitant- but would still consider it.
Obviously the magic isn't in the flash, it's what the bros bring to flash. Whatever they decide to do, the magic will follow- that's why I wouldn't be so hurt if they did "sell out"
Just to clarify, I said I think they'll be
back on Monday, but I don't necessarily think they will have a new toon. They may or may not update the site, but I think they will be back to work on monday if you know what I mean... ? So that would put the update... as you said... on next monday, not this monday.
You're right. It is magic. I have always been in awe of the invisible lasso that binds fans of something together. It is amazing that one thing like that could draw so many people together and create a community. It has always been a dream of mine to someday experience that community around something I give life to. And it is definitely not just the toons we love, it is the imaginations and humor of those two awesome guys. And one awesome girl.
I know that giving up one of your creations for money and starting over with a new thing isn't the end of the world, but I just think that with the freedom TBC has with their cartoons, they would not give it away yet. They have so many offshoots from the original cartoons, and so much history and so much possibility to be even more creative, it isn't like they have to limit their imaginations to fit stuff into the site. It has always been that way, if they get bored with plain old Homestar they do something different with it.
The fact that they have chosen to use the site to do all their Flash tinkering and have even made those offshoots makes me find it hard to believe they would sell out too. Why not make a whole new site right now instead of doing offshoots all the time? They could if they wanted to. It wouldn't make financial sense to sell something and start over after selling, because the new thing you come up with could flop. It is smarter to launch your new idea before selling out and seeing how it is recieved.
The only way I think TBC would abandon Homestar is when they get tired of doing Flash. That I could see happening. Otherwise, I think homestarrunner.com will continue to be their Flash playground.
