Of course I every now and then give a link to some awesome e-mail for a friend, but I don't think forcefully showing H*R to people gives Homestarrunner.com or it's fans a very good reputation.
So far, I've managed to brainwash my girlfriend (yeah, I've got one now, who would've guessed) and maybe a couple of friends. :P

The only person I told about the site saw my Cheat Commandos shirt and wanted to know where he could see those guys in action. He used homophobic phrases the next day to describe the site when he didn't see them on the first thing he saw. I hated the guy anyway. But a Cheat Commandos main page would be a great idea, though. As long as it's one of the ones that don't come up randomly.

You mean like a hidden one? Maybe there's already one and it hasn't been found yet.

Possibly, but somehow I feel like that's just a bit unlikely. I mean, we've got so many users browsing this site, it feels unlikely that something would've escaped out eagle eyes for this long...

Or maybe I just expect too much from us. :P

I actually hated HomestarRunner.com when I first saw it (but that was so long ago, all I saw was the Yellow Dello). Since then I'm always afraid that people I show it to will hate it, but no one has yet. My girlfriend was an instant believer.

Yeah, never expect that many great things from us. When you have a forum consisting of cross-dressers, kids with leaf faces, and IJ, the expectations should be low.

Update: Apparently my friend watched the first 25 or so Strong Bad E-mails and enjoyed them, which is a good sign, considering they get so much better from there. I had already told him in advance they start really getting good sometime in the late 20's/early 30's, and last night I also told him about the games like Trogdor, Stinkoman 20x6 and Population: Tire, as well as other stuff on the site. He seems to very much look forward to getting into all things H*R.

*hopes that he's actually about to convert someone* :)

I converted a friend of mine. But only one. I even got him to register here as a member.
The others think it's stupid altough they haven't even seen any of it. Strange people...

I've introduced a few friends to it. They seemed to pick it up pretty quick, and they enjoy it. Just showed em a few sbemails, and now me and my friend are into it - along with Bonus Stage (which I also showed him).

Nope, we're everywhere. And of course there's me, that cheerful blonde cyborg. XP

I got my best friend into Homestar, and he's still a fan.

I tried to get other friends into it, too. One really liked it at the start, but now I think he hates it. Another saw the character videos, thought they sucked, and will never go on the site again. Pshoo....

I AM a converted one. Thankyou, my sister, and JD!
Whenever I tell someone about it, they're all "mm. okay. whatever."
But most of my friends are fans anyway, so I don't really get to convert people, since they are all who I talk to.

In case anyone doesn't know, spell his name backwards and you'll find the answer.

My eyes still hurt from that moment

I was also converted to H*R, back in late September of 03. I can't peg an exact date, all I know is that the most recent email at the time was 2 years, released September 22. Homestar Runner has a kind of universal appeal that few other things have, and I think if you show somebody TGS or one of the Fluffy Puff comercials, we might have more zombie-like minio- I mean devoted fans.

Well, that's just a well known nickname around here, once you get to know the forum.

i have no idea what that is, but i bet Neopets is more strict. i tried it a couple years ago and i got my account frozen for saying Cheat. boy, does it suck.

oh, right the subject. that's an interesting story. my friend told me in year 3 when i went to his house so i decided to try it again at home. i thought it was the greatest. somehow, it got forgotten. lotta years later i remembered. i saw a webpage. so i decided to try it at school. in fact, i believe this story is told elsewhere.

Well, I know my parents a good and converted. Know why? Because yesterday, my dad made us a new mousepad with a screenshot from "narrator."

I've converted at least 4 people that I know for sure are fans. I'm getting one of them the SBS CD for his b-day. I already gave one to one of the others, along with a Limozeen t-shirt.

My cousin told me about H*R when she was in to it three years ago. She doesn't like it anymore but I still love it. Many, many times I have tried to convert someone to H*R but sadly failed. Until now! Just a week ago I had a friend over my house and when He came in my room he saw my "Kick the cheat" at first he thought it was a pokemon and got scared but then I told him it was the cheat and showed him it on my H*R poster.
So I showed him the website and now he likes it! Horray!
