I'm beginning to notice a slight change in H*R. Like, it's becoming slightly more vulgar. Not very much, but a little bit. The new Strong Bad e-mail confirmed my suspicions, what with the line about naked women and the abrupt cutoff of Daddy Mudgeman's comment, seemingly right before he let something slip. There are a few other minor details, too (most of which I forgot), but I'm just curious: has anyone else noticed this, or am I just a deranged psycho? Well, I'm a deranged psycho anyways, but we're getting off topic here.

I guess I can see your point, but it's too early to say they're getting more vulgar. My way of thinking was the opposite- I thought the old Sbemails and toons were more crude and vulgar than the newer ones.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
Your kidding, right?
Eh, I guess I can see how some people might think that. Compared to the rest of the internets, this is VERY clean.
I mean, I got bad stuff when I was Google Image Search-ing "Aslan".
ASLAN!

Hey, look, I said slightly, okay? Silly people. And yes, Ace, I can agree with you. I'm just curious. But yes, H*R is pretty clean. That e-mail just kinda threw me off guard. I'm easily... um, thrown... off guard.

I think it's sustained it's low level of vulgarity throughout it's run. Some times it may have seemed cleaner or dirtier, but...Ya, nothings different.

I can see what you mean Reddy. I mean, it kinda has been a tad risque, but it's nothing new. I mean, there's H* peeing in A Jumping Jack Competition, there's Strong Bad talking about having kids with Ali and her sister, his comments aboot England......it's nothing new.

It kinda of is getting more vulgar, though. The Compy era had the cleanest Strong Bad emails. The Lappy doesn't have the worst, I think the Tandy and Lappy are equal in how vulgar they are.

Homestar isn't vulgar. The only thing that was slightly vulgar was the bird email. Whoever sent that shouldn't have even sent that email anyway. There was just no good way to respond to that.

I doubt it will be getting more vulgar, plus it was said that Homestarrunner was more directed to college students.

Yeah, college, high school, in that level. There are kids that watch, though. I think Nintendogs is like 10, and Lunar Jesty is fairly young, too.

The only reason I know it is because I have to periodically remind people that we are being ruled by a child. :p

Personally, I don't think it's an all-over vulgarity sort of thing. I think H*R is in general a mostly clean site with occassional toe-the-line bumps. My sister's about the same ages as Nintendogs, and she watches it all the time. My whole family likes it a lot; so, yeah, it's a pretty safe thing. It just has its "Huh wait wah?!" moments.

I'm 14. :P

Secret Identity was...surprising, considering their normal "cleanliness", but I wouldn't say it's OMGGG VULGAR or anything. I would still even consider it "PG"ish.

Kids these days have no meaning for the word "vulgar." Just ask Funkstar.

Homestar is really nothing new at all. It's cleaner than most movies, even G ones. I'm pretty sure no kid automatically got his mind polluted because Strong Bad said "naked." If anything, the kid giggled and showed his friends that HIS internet cartoon has the work "naked." And then the other kids laugh and show the Homestar kid Newgrounds.

I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but I can't stand it when people say Homestar is getting "adult". Firstly, compared to....most internet humor (comics, cartoons, etc.) Homestar is pretty tame. And secondly, look at some of the old emails. Strong Bad talks about flipping people off, for crying out loud! No one complained about that being "vulgar".

That's just my 2 cents, I'm not trying to offend anybody.

I can see where you are coming from...but at the same time if you look back there have been risque things in the earlier Emails as well.

It's a G-PG cartoon. As long as it doesn't get into the PG-13 to R rated area I'm fine with it. I really do admire TBC for keeping it a generally clean toon.

The cartoon was based off a children's book, not some bad...thing out in the...bad place...place.

But there's a difference between calling something "vulgar" and calling something "adult". Check the definition of vulgar. Dictionary.com.

I think something can be vulgar, and rated G or PG, and not be adult oriented. Just look at something like Rocko's Modern Life.

heh. H*R is not vulgar. It's funny. And the CLEANEST funny I think I've ever seen on the internet. lol. It goes up/down between becoming more or less risque, however, at the very begining they used to make mention of the cheat's smoking habit. Haven't heard much on that lately, have you?

However, if you go play StrongBad's BORED games, which is still accessible on the site... there is a game dedicated to the cheat's smoking habit. If this site were just for kids, I'm pretty sure TBC would AVOID that sort of thing. lol.
