Well, homestars in double digits now! Think they'll make it to 20?

I doubt it.

I don't want to sound like I hate H*R or anything, but 20 years? That's an enormous amount of time for anything to keep producing new material. I'm sure that if it went that long, the quality would begin to decline, too.

Well, we can always hope that they will stay hilarious. Remember when people said that TBC were already losing their touch last year? Where are they now?

Somehow I think they will make it to 20 years.

Yeah yeah but when Matt becomes older, what will he do if he can't do something he used to for many years.

do you think they will keep the same style of drawing? e.g. the shading effect. or will they change it?

They will probably change is a bit, but only slightly, seeing how They didn't change much since 2000, I doubt They will change the style alot, seeing as that TBC are cool with how They look like now.

I was thinking about that too. I hope we get something really spectacular for H*R's 10th birthday, though I'm not sure how likely that is.

Wow, I was... 12 years old when the original book was made. I feel so old. :x

Flash changes frequently. I'm sure they'll keep the same style, but they'll change with the quality of Flash.

Since bandwidth continues to expand exponentially, and I assume online storage is only going to get cheaper over time, hopefully they'll do what they did with TGS10 and give the toons higher framerates. Gotta love that smooth animation

This is dancing off toastpaint, but a lot of things seem to be turning 10/20 this year. Off the top of my head, I can name not only Homestar, but the NES's American release, Zelda, Pokèmon... all celebrating a 10/20. But maybe I'm just noticing them because they're all geeky.

One thing TBC have said is that they enjoy other art styles, like PBTC, the flashbacks, Saddy Dumpingstyle, stuff like that. I don't thing we're gonna see our characters change too drastically, but there will be change.

Ooh, great! Happy birthday, Homestar.
Huh, H*R has been around for quite a while. I was only four back then. Wouldn't have thought the baldy was so old.

Let's hope that he'll have many more birthdays. He really deserves it.

I was five in the summer of '96...and a lot of things are turning 10 this year because if you look on a lot of long-running websites you'll see that not many of them have histories that go farther back than around 1996 or 1997. I didn't think the common man had Internet for so short a time. :|

Well they've definently thought about it. They're kicking around ideas, in fact that's the only far ahead toon they've been thinking of.

Or so they said at the Flashforward conference I was at today.

Why don't you just put "Oh, by the way, I went to Flashforward!" in your sig or something... you seem to be mentioning it a lot :P
(not that I blame you...)

Well I had to give a source somehow. What should I have said?

"My senses tell me that the Chapmans have been thinking ahead about this. I can't say how I know, but I feel it"

Can someone tell me the exact date of the publishing of the original book. Oh wait, let me pull it up.
Homestar in the Strongest Man in the world Contest
It dosen't say. Does anyone have the book?

Based on what that page says, I'm guessing it never was really published, and noone other than TBC and some of their friends would have it...

The page says July '96, that's about as precise as we know...

Well, I guess we'll have to wait for it to know the exact last day.

The Olympics for that year lasted from July 19th to August 4th. From what I've noticed from all interviews with the Chaps, it always hovers between late July and early August. That's about as specific as you can get.

Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if TBC have forgotten exactly what day they made the book... They might only remember "July '96"...

Time machines are easy. All you have to do is make sure the cardboard box is facing in the right direction, and don't forget your hyperspace goggles. And the snacks.

Just don't flip it over and accidentally transmogrify yourself into something gross, like a slug or something.

Or put it on its side, either. I mean, we're all cool, but two of us? That'd just be too much, man.
