Well, this is about what I think has been a change for the better in the H* world. Over last year, I was feeling the pains of the early Lappy era sbemails as TBC seemed to be experimenting with other mediums and subjects (for example, Saddy Dumpington) as well as putting out several toons that had a feel to them similar to Thing in a Bag. We had several drawn out periods with little-to-no updates, and overall the site had a different feel to it than in previous years.

Then came the Aught Five, that seven week period of silence that annoyed the bejeebers out of a good many people. No sbemails were produced, and very little in other places were worked on as well.

During or around this period of time TBC released the Holiday Float Parade. I think that that particular toon felt a lot like many of the Compy-era toons with it's humor and overall style. Now that the Aught Five is well over and TBC have been splendidly updating each and every week, I have noticed that the majority of these sbemails and other things have a distinct Compy-esque feel.

This is almost a second Lappy era, a post-Aught Five, if you will.

Anyways, I told what I think, and I was wondering what anyone else thinks, agreements or otherwise.

I noticed something of the sort, but not really until "candy product," which seemed really old-school to me--in fact, it kinda made me think of "action figure." Speaking of which, I just got some imaginary peanut butter cookies and now I really want something peanut-flavored. Mmmmm...

Not really, for me. I think the Lappy era* is a lot more random then the Compy era**, I personally liked the Compy era a lot more, and I have to say, I was dissapointed in that looooong wait with no new toons or Sbemails. I also remember the one before Christmas. GAHH! That annoyed me, a month without a toon, expecting a Decemberween one, then none comes out. ARGH! But, they did have Troggie's 3rd birthday, which was awesome.

**The Middle and end of the Compy era

Oohhh, if you want it to be possessive, it's just I-T-S! But, if it's supposed to be a contraction, then it's I-T-apostrophe-S! Scalawag.

I haven't to see a Compy email that wasn't too bad, but some Lappy ones, like Dreamail, were slightly dissapointing.

The more recent ones, like Disconnected, are getting slightly back into the feel of Compyesque emails. Slightly.

Is Compyesque a word?

I love the ones where Strong Bad makes his own crappy version of popular products.

nice one dumdedum.

i feel like it's all really good, but particularly the Fall Float Parade was really one of the most humorous toons i'd seen in a while. the bros chap really hit that one well, and i liked it. as far as the decemberween disapointment, yeah that hit me a bit, but it's all just fun and i'm sure that they had all sorts of holiday shopping and and turkeys to stuff.

candy product is also feeling this way, and excellent toon that really feels a lot like action figure as others noted. i applaud the bros chap for the good stuff lately.

Wow. Yeah, that's one of the things most everybody notices but that can't quite seem to put their finger on WHAT they're noticing. Good analyzing there, Cap'n.

Yeah, I have been noticing an improved quality in the meails lately. Not nescessarrily any funnier, but just better quality.

Oh, and um - a toon was made for every week those 7 weeks, buddy. But maybe your one-a the peoples that only check up on the emails. And I think the official name for those 7 weeks is "The Sbemail Drought" or if you want to sound cooler, "The Draught of the Sbemail". Could someone back-a me up on that?

Yeah, you are right about that. I just befuddled up some of my details there. Also, The Aught FIve was the name I got from Strong Rad {url=http://forum.hrwiki.org/viewtopic.php?t=6740] in this thread[/url]. Actually, I jut realized that I may have spelled it wrong, so thanks for getting me to notice that.

Good points, nontheless. *jots down*

I sure hope it's back for good, we need less "lil brudder" type stuff and more "jorb well done" type toons.
