I'm making a homestar card game. I'll post up the cards, and you can copy/print them. Play with your friends!

HOw to make them from a word document:
1. Copy them on to word.
2. Size them out, format them as "free"
3. Place sets side by side and on top of each other.
3. You should be able to fit a 6 by 4 block of cards on one page.
4. Print, cut out, enjoy.

TIP: If you want more than one card in a deck (Ex: 2 Homestars), instead of printing out 2, just print out 1, cut out a little piece of paper, write "Homestar" on it, and whatever other info you want (ATK, DEF, effect, a little drawing of homestar, etc.)
Also, drawing a little H*R logo on the back is recommended.

I'm sorry about the small size, it's the best I can do.

Special Thanks to:
The Brothers Chaps- for creating Homestar Runner, the greatest cartoons of our era, and inspiration for this game
hrwiki.org-for supplying all the pictures.
My brother- because he will be playtesting the crap out of this game with me.
Cybernetic Teenybopper- for figuring out how to make a homsar and Strong Sad card.

You guys rock.

Thanks. I'm gonna need playtesters to make sure it's balanced.

Anyway, here's the basic rules.

The board.

Deck/ Back/Back/You
Discard/Front/Front/Front.
Space
Opponent (mirror of yours)

Deck- THis is where your deck goes.
Front-characters in the frontlines go here.
Discard- this is where discarded cards go
You- This is where you are (metaphorically)
BAck- injured characters can go to the back to heal at a rate of 1 HP per turn. They cannot attack, but can still be attacked by an enemy, unless another unit is in front of it.

There are three types of cards:
Characters(BLue)-Characters are brought into play to attack other characters or the enemy player. Ex: Homestar Runner, Strong Bad, the Fort Wayne Locomotive.

Items(Red)- Items are given to characters to somehow make them stronger. YOu can give items to characters on both sides of the field.
Ex: Bub's Shotgun, Melonade, Capsules

Effects(Yellow)- effects cause something to happen, basically this game's vesion of a magic card.
Field effect placement: Some cards are field effect cards, which are placed on a space and affect characters on that space. These can be destroyed by the opponent, and are considered as 0/10 characters, although they don't take up a space. You cannot attack a field effect card if a character is on that space.
Ex: Bottomless pit, virus, Heavy Lourde

You must create a deck of 40 cards.

To begin: Each player draws 4 cards and starts with 20 life.
Each player draws one card per turn, and 30 DP (do points.)
The first player then expends DP to use cards
Ex: 10 to play Homestar, 5 to make him attack, 5 to give him Bigknife, 10 to play virus.
(DP can be saved for next turn as well.)
Repeat until other player is defeated.

it costs 5 DP to move a unit from the front to the back, and vice versa. 5 is the maximum number of characters you can play.

Abilities:

Knock back-If you knock back someone in the front, they move to the back. If you knockback someone in the back, they have to move to an adjacent space. If there is no availible space, the card returns to it's owners hand. If you knockback someone in front of someone in the back, they go to the back, and the person in the back move to an adjacent space, or back to your opponents hand. They cannot switch places. If a character immune to knockback is in front of a unit without KB immunity, nothing happens. When a unit woth knockback is behind someone without knockback, and that character is hit, either that character must move to a different space or the character behind him suffers 1/2 damage. Units in front of "you" cannot be knocked back.

Stun- a stunned opponent cannot attack or move the next turn. Stuns can stack.

Abilities are cumulative. FOr example, if Marzipan's effect is being used, (heals a unit in the front instead of healing her in the back) and Bub's COncession Stand is also being used(Heals people in the back 2 hp per turn), The Character in the front heals 2 HP.

If a units DEF is reduced to zero, he goes to the discard pile.

Limits: You can only have 3 of the same card in one deck. However, you cannot have two of the same cards in play at the smae time on your side of the field. Ex: you cannot play two homestars. Your opponent, however can have th e same card played on their side.
The following cards cannot be equipped with items:
Bad Graphics ghost
Mrs. Commanderson
Trogdor

Placement:
When a characteris played, where they are placed is important. Units in the front can attack. Units in the back cannot attack, but they can be attacked, unless anotehr character is placed in front of them. Units in the back also heal 1 DEF point per turn. There are two back zones, and 3 front zones. It costs a unit 5 DP to move from the two different zones, but tehy can move freely across same zones.
Where you fit into it all: You are located behind one of the zones. YOu can be attacked if a unit is not in front of you, so it is best to always have a unit in front of you, even if it leaves somene in the back vulnerable.

This is just an early plan. Rules could be changed.[/list]

Once I actually make them/iron out how the rules are going to work, I will post more.
Wow, when you're done with making those cards, you should sent it into weekly fanstuff. Those would be awesome to play.

MY plan is to have around 60 cards(30 characters, 15 items, 15 events) done soon. Also, if you do print them out, draw a little H*R symbol on the back.

Alright, here's the first 3 official cards. Also, Since I can only create 3 at once, you ahould save them all to a word document and print them out once you have a lot of them.

I know that Marzy and SB look really weird. Also, 1-Up should cost 10.

Pretty cool, but I doubt that they're at a printable size (they're pretty darn small on my monitor; nearly illegible). But, as some advice, please don't triple post. Instead, use the edit button to merge more thoughts to a post together.

i found these on a google image search. i might make some of my own later.

--edit---
ok it's later. I made my own amazing card.

it's quite obviously based on "Magic, the Gathering." Print it out and shove it in your Magic deck, and you'll have people utterly bewilderd.

Awesome. I've seen some of those, they're what inspired me to make this game. SOmeone made a Homestar one somewhere.

I printed out some cards, they came out pretty good. They're supposed to be pretty small and thin, the text gets really blurry when you make them too big/wide/square.

Pretty cool! The rules sound pretty good. It actually sounds like a combination of two card games I've invented/helped invent and worked on--SSB TCG, a Super Smash Bros.-based card game with overly complicated rules, and Acolyte, an original fantasy card game that my friend is largely in charge of. I like your card design, but as has been said, they're a bit of an odd size for printing.

Do you know anyone with PHP/programming mad skillz? If so, maybe you could find some way to make this up online. That'd be wicked awesome.

I know the size is small, you're supposed to copy them to word, and then, make them bigger. I'm putting instructons in the first post.

Hey, Blue, this looks mighty awesome, so I was wonderin'. Do you have Photoshop? If so, do you think I could PS up for you a few spiff-tastic templates to make the cards look mighty rock awesome? You could just copy the pics into the frame, add the text, and it could look even cooler! Or, if my Photoshop skills fail me horribly, they could just look lame. I dunno. *shrug* I like to nose my way into everything, so of course I'm trying to be "helpful..."

It's cool, thanks. I don't have photoshop, I'm just toughing it out on MS Paint. I'm gonna trick it out once I get photoshop. By the way, anyone have any idea what to do for homsar and Strong Sad cards?

Ahh. Well, I guess I can just offer up suggestions for ya, then. :P

Homsar should have a special ability that, when he attacks, if you pay a certain number of points, you can have your opponent shuffle their hand into their duck and draw that many cards. Strong Sad should set a maximum size on both player's hands while in play, like four or five.

Okay, Series One is finished! Now you can print them out using the instructions provided in the first post.

Cybernetic Teenybopper, you're a genius. You get in my special thanks section.

And JThomeslice, I'm probably going to set up a thread in games to play on the internet, although cheating could be a problem.
