NO MATTER WHAT I DO IN THE PREFERENCES AREA, IT STILL GIVES ME THIS MESSAGE.

The first rule of error messages: If you're getting an error, chances are someone else has before and knows how to solve it. Therefore, type it into Google and click on the first result.

Never mind. I wrote that it wasn't working here. But I installed it again and it works now. Must've been a fluke.

Okay, this is going to seem like an absolutely ridiculous question, but how do you reboot Firefox?

I tried exiting out and then opening it again...something tells me that that's wrong.

Actually, that's right. You might need to install Greasemonkey again... it worked for me.

But...I like my set better! It has MORE! USE! Image Image

This is mine. Go to the tools menu > manage user scripts > phpBB auxiliarry emoticons > edit button. Replace the url next to "var setURL" from the swirlee.org one to the one I posted (or ed's if you wish).

I get to the edit button, but I get a message that says "Find Text Editor" and it opens up a "browser". You know, the thing that comes up when you click "Browse" in Photobucket or summat.

So, you find a text editor, genius. Like, you find one and then the script loads onto it. Then you can edit the script.

Okay, sheesh. No need to get all angry.

But now when I click on "Edit" nothing happens.

I suck. :(

Go to about:config, then set the greasemonkey.editor to blank. Then, when you open it up again, if you don't have a super-cool text editor you can just set it to notepad. Then create a new value called 'acekirby.suck' and set it to falseImage

Hows about dumbing that down, tech wizard? Pretend I'm calling the internet for help.

As in, I don't know what the crap "about:config" means.

The "edit" button problem has happened to others as well. Check Speck's thread in Andsey. Image

To get to about:config, type 'about:config' in the address bar and hit enter. Then, a whole buncha stuff in a huge table. Then, in the 'filter' thing, type 'greasemonkey.editor', then there should only be one entry. On the right, it'll probably have something there, so just right-click and delete it (or set it to the directory of your text editor). If you delete the value the window should come up again next time you try to edit the script.

Actually, you'll want to right-click and choose on 'Reset.' There is no delete option, for some strange reason, but Reset should do the trick.

Make sure you have the most recent version of the extension (0.6.4), and if for some reason the Install button still doesn't show up, try right-clicking on it and choose "Install User Script...".

Before I (finally!) go to bed, I wanted to give everybody a sneak-preview of the next version of phpBB Auxiliary Emoticons (pAU):

It's not quite functional yet, but give me a few days and we'll be in business. Image

It won't let me download the newest version of Greasemonkey, even though I have Firefox 1.5.0.4 .

What do you mean "won't let you"? Are you getting an error message? Did you add the download site to the list of allowed sites? Please be more specific.
