For me, it was personal favorites.

This may seem a little out of place, but that's because it is a merged thread. These two topics seemed awful similar... so now they are a single topic.

Stu

btw... the first thing I saw on H*R was also a Strong Bad email. Number 51 to be exact.

Mine was "Where's the Cheat?" I was instantly a fan of the site after that!

My first one was the "Strong Bad in Jail Cartoon". After seeing The Cheat with rabbies I was completely hooked. After that I started watchong some SBemails. Coinsidentaly, (er...however you say it) the SBemails I watched were ones where Strong Bad pertends to be cool but isn't or something bad happens to him. Therefore, I thought he was a loser. But after seeing the light and watching DIFFERENT ones, I realised Strong Bad was the coolest thing since sliced Strong Sad.

There. Done. My life Story.

I remember seeing the URL on the back of people's shirts a few times and thinking it was something about real estate, so I didn't bother until I some friends pointed me there.

I'm pretty sure the first thing I saw was helium, but I'm not sure. I DO remember, though, that the newest email at the time was caffeine.

The helium e-mail.

"Whoa, that red guy's voice got deeper!"

I came in when Strong Bad had already sucked on the balloon.

Thinking about that shirts thing reminds me... The first thing I ACTUALLY saw was a girl in my Orchestra class who had a bunch of H*R t-shirts she'd made herself, including one that said "Possums..."

Technically, the first thing I saw was SomethingAwful.com's parody of Homestar Runner, which was a parody of Strong Bad E-Mail called "Dong Dad E-Mail" which was hilarious, but even more hilarious by the time I returned to it knowing what they were parodying.

LOL, it was so funny:

SENILE HOMESTAR: Hey Dong Dad! I have to do some tiiiiimes tables with yoooou!
[Strong Mad comes over to Dong Dad holding the dead body of Marzipan.]
DONG DAD: Oh my gosh... you killed her... Strong Mad, come here...
[Dong Dad starts crying and slowly raises a gun to Strong Mad's head.]
DONG DAD: Let me... tell you about the rabbits *sobbing*...
BOOM!

Then I googled "Dong Dad", found it was a parody of H*R, wondered what the REAL H*R was like, so I checked it out. I was instantly hooked.

The first anything Homestar I saw was a kid at my school had a Homestar Hoodie on. Later on, in 6th grade, a lot of the "nerdy" kids in computer club were always watching Homestar. I'll admit it, I thought it was about baseball. In June of 2005, I was extremely bored on the internet. I instantly remembered the site, and typed it in. I remembered the thing that appealed to me most at computer club was Teen Girl Squad. So I watched all of them that afternoon, and soon discovered the Strong Bad e-mails(When people at Computer Club watched them, I thought Strong Bad was discussing battle plans :p ). I got a kick out of them. So when I went to Boy Scout camp for a week in July, I discovered one of my friends in the troop was a fan, and told me what e-mails to watch. I also remebered one of the Counslers had an old scout shirt from when he was in Cub Scout camp, and there was a dragon on the shirt, and he turned the dragon in to Trogdor and wrote the lyrics to Trogdor on the back of the shirt. It was the best. All that summer, I watched all of the Sbemails with my trusty bowl of peanuts and Diet Coke. It was truly the summer of Homestar Runner for me.

Yeah, Bam Spake. Congratulations on being one of the six people who were actually watching the Strong Bad Emails back then. :P

The first thing I ever saw was the First Time Here? video (I visited the site after my friend told me the name and not much else, and since it WAS my first time there, it seemed the appropriate thign to click). After that, I started comign to the site regularly. I think the first email I ever saw was either car or lunch special, and the first toon I ever saw was "New Boots". I was hooked soon after that.

First thing after the "Everybody, Everybody" intro (since this was before the current first page that allows you to skip it) was Main Page 3, with the island. I thought the website looked pretty childish, but I looked around anyway. I then moved into the Toons Section, which was currently the Chinese Food Menu. I'm not sure, but i think the first toon I watched was the Yello Dello.

All I remember about my first encounter is that I saw it mentioned sometime in the early summer of 2002 on a message board I frequently visited. I checked it out, thought it was pretty stupid at first, but ended up watching all the toons, playing the games, and overall liking the site.

I didn't discover Strong Bad Email until September-ish, and I believe the newest one that was out at that point was lures & jigs. Of course, I then watched all the SBEmails and became more addicted than I already was. And then the Trogdor explosion hit, everybody knew about the site, and good times ensued. But that's all a story for another time.

Dang Jish, that was a long time ago. I can't say that I've met too many people that were fans that long ago.

"Guitar". Heard about it from a school teacher who knew about the site from his high school kids. I sell guitars and sound equipment, so that was a perfect start.

My first toon that I saw on my own was "japanese cartoon", not because I like anime, but because I was hoping to see Strong Bad make fun of it. I saw a couple Teen Girl Squads before that, but they seemed stupid at the time. After going through a bunch of emails, I recognized why they were stupid and got hooked on everything on the site thereafter.

The process, perhaps? When you first said that, it's the first thing that came to my mind.

I don't remember what the first H*R thing I ever saw was... I think it was "A Jorb Well Done". I do remember seeing the Tandy menu that was up during "vacation". So yeah, I've been a fan since the early days of Compy. A BIG fan.

I thought I already posted in this, but I must not have. The first thing I saw was "A Jorb Well Done," I think, and it was when the Chinese menu was still around.
