When i first came to the site I assumed homestar was a robot. Now I'm not quite sure.

He has no arms and no neck, nor anything to suggest he is a human or even a mammel. He is sure shaped like a robot, has no pants (according to strongbad) he doesn't seem to have shoes, they're more like part of his legs, overal his feet are very robot like. His body is sort of cylindrical and in one email he said "check out all my hydrollics" moving his hat around like part of a bulldozer. He seems to have all the characteristics of a robot but I've never really heard anyone ever refer to him as a robot. Also in the vidoe 20X6 VS 1936, stinkoman said "You don't know what a robot is?" and cracked up. To me this seemed like stinkoman thought it was pathetic that the robot didn't know what a robot was.

Take the other characters. Strongbad has at least a round head, arms and shoes, as well as natural colored skin. Strong sad has a round head, feet (sort of) arms and fingers. He has a belly button but we can't prove it is infact his navel. Strong mad has no head, but hands, and feet, and a painfully obvious crotch and fleshy knee's. He also has eyebrows, (which I believe no one else has) nose and teeth and natural colored skin along with strongbad. There's.. ugh (shudders) coach Z, who has at least a round head, hands and feet. He and strongbad appear to be the only character with a visible neck. Theres bubs who has no hands but at least arms, and feet. He is obese which definitly makes him human, and teeth. And of course the round head. Marizpan is obviously not human or animal but definitly not a robot. She is either a broom or a mop. Its kind of creepy that she is the King of Towns daughter because he doesn't seem to be a mop at all! He has a beard and mustache, suggesting he is some kind of mammel. He doesn't appear to have arms, a trait he may have passed onto the mop he some how fathered, but his arms may in fact just be concealed beneath his robe.
The Poopsmith appears to be a mammel as he does have hair, or are they antenae? He has lips which no other character appears to posess (making it quite ironic that he is the only one who doesn't speak, except for pompom who doens't have a mouth). He has arms and feet, which appear more like golf clubs concealed by blue stockings. His body appears to be a potato but he does have arms and fingers.
The cheat has a pair of sorta arms and sorta legs, but has teeth and is obviously some type of mammel due to his fur.
Homesar we won't touch as he appears to be some sort of relative of homestar. Perhaps a drunken uncle.
Pompom appears more like a giant inflatable of some sort. He doesn't seem human, animal, or the sort of thing you'd find in a janitors closet. To me pompom seemed most at home when portrayed as a paramecium in sb email "highschool". Whatever pompom may be he certainly isn't a robot as a robot couldn't function when filled with water.

Whats the difference between these characters and homestar? Apart from marzipan who is a mop, and the king of town who may just be hiding his arms, all the characters seem to have arms. And apart from strongmad, who is obviously human or mammel for reasons already explained, all the characters seem to have a head thats seperate from their body, instead of a sort of continuation of their body. (excluding the cheat who is obviously not a robot). And most of the characters bear at least one other trait to make them human.

So is homestar in fact a robot? Here sure seems like one but it is impossible to prove. What do you think?

I'm still editing. Do you remember which email the "check out all my hydrollics" was from?

He eats stuff, he got sick, he has emotions, robots dont need to be censored when they are naked, homestar sleeps sometimes, he blinks, he feels pain, he isnt very smart, he can't follow commands, and of course, no self respecting robot would allow their vocabulary/usage unit to unchecked long enough for him to make a mistake like 'light globes'.

In the email 'high school', they showed homestar and others as single celled organsims, which rules out the robot theory.

I read your post, and in it, you mentioned several things such as 'shaped like a robot'. Robots dont have a definite shape. He has a somewhat hominid shap, minus arms.

The hydrolics in his hat dont suggest that he is a robot, but that his hat has hydrolics. That's it.

And for the record, none of the characters are human.

Not to mention he gets punched out by Strong Bad in "car". I don't think just a punch would be enough to take out a robot of any sort.

He's not really a robot or a human or anything. He's just... a Homestar. Best not to think too much about it if you don't want to break your brain, hehe.

But I don't think the fact that he was shown as a paramecium proves he is not a robot. Strongbad was obviously making that all up once they got to the paramecium part. How could they be romans BEFORE they were parameciums?

And how come when they were shown as babies, homestar was fully grown? Perhaps because robots dont' grow!

As for a robot getting sick, feeling pain and eating, perhaps those are jokes? There really are no rules in these video's. Heck strongbad types with boxing gloves on and homestar usually levitates stuff around him. The no rules part kind of makes all my points invalid but homestars overall appearance, to me at least, just screams "ROBOT!"

And as for "none of the characters are human" I'd definitly be inclined to agree with you but can you prove it? Can you prove strongbad is not human? I'm not saying you can't I'm asking how you know this for sure.

Also, in the email caper, theres the "yeah whats the deal? I didn't know you had to shave!" suggesting it was somewhat odd. Why would it be? I thought this was because what kind of robot would have to shave? And it turns out its just cinammon, which would explain it if he was infact a robot. If he's not a robot, why doesn't he have to shave? lol. Jk. As if anyone else did.

In the sb email 'some kinda robot', strongbad says that the mask and boxing gloves are part of his body. Not human. Also, he had a portion of his head blown off in Marshmallow's Last Stand.

Millions of people dont have to shave. Homestar is a creature that doesnt need to shave.

blood, there's a good point. But the commentary suggests the whole thing was an act. (homestar being a puppet) so technically he never really got hurt or bleed. lol...this argument is ridiculous.... also strongbad's hands are oven mitts in that instead of boxing gloves. But perhaps they're just overtop.

But strongbad did not exactly state they were his face and hands, he kind of suggested it though. Anyway, strongbad doesn't have a belly button so that should do it. Basicly I was thinking more humanesque or at least animal or mammel.

TBC has stated that Strong Bad's boxing gloves are his real hands, and him mask is his face. I tend to take that as canon.

As for throwing water on Homestar, no need to. He has gone Swimming before.

As for whether they are human or not, there's already a topic for that. Take it there please.

Btw, don't take this thread too seriously, the characters are too bizzare to form any logical arguments. I'm trying to give my reasons why I think homestar is a robot.Gave my reasons why and I wanted to see if anyone else thought the same.

Anyone remember that Strong Sad's belly button wasnt there when he was born?? hah.. i recall little strong bad getting a drill for his birthday...

I doubt Homestar is a robot. Just a no armed whitey. VeggieTales characters pick things up, and most of them don't have visible hands or arms, and they aren't robots, right?

If you pick at every little unrealistic differences with real life, then cartoons are no more than techni-colored live action sitcoms. Just appreciate cartoons for what they are...

I think the real question is, if Homestar is a robot, what kind of powers does he have? And does he use them for good, or for awesome?

i don't think he is a robot. example, when he gets hit or hits something, the sound effect is like "THUD!" not like "CLANG!"

Don't the Brothers Chap refer to the characters as "Stupid Animal Characters?"

I think their fans say that.

Non robot-like actions:
Bleeding
Getting sick, and vomitting.
Eating
Drinking.
Blinking.
Having a bug stuck in your throat (Robots dont have throats.)
Sleeping.
Swimming.
Getting tired.
That thing he did behind marzipan's house in the luau.
He only weighs 100 pounds. Robots would weigh more.
He has a girlfriend.
In the yello dello, he sat there thinking for like 2 days. A robot would have been able to think faster than that. Maybe.
Homestar has a 'favorite snack'. Robots dont have taste.
Probably other stuff I can't think of.

Runescape? I don't recall. Mikau is a character from The Legend of Zelda, Majora's Mask so naturally there's likely to be more then one mikau on the web.

Others have offered valid reasonable arguments for why they feel homestar is not in fact a robot, but you appearently have nothing to offer but a coarse word and a spelling insult. Very well...I'll except that. Thanks man, I appreciate your input!
