So do the TBC. They refer to them as "Dumb Animal Characters". According to our wonderful wiki, it was first said in the 2003 Wired News Interview, and then the Sample of Style on the DVD, and on the official Homestar Runner website's FAQ!

I'd say that Homestar is not a robot, but on our Fanstuff Wiki, we have arguments whether Stinkoman and 1-Up are robots or not robots or some sorta cyborg robo thingy thing thing.

I just remembered something else that seems to suggest he is a robot.

Sbemail dangeresque 3 "WHAT IS YOUR MALFUNCTION?" :hr:

That was more of a reference to Full Metal Jacket, where the correct line was "What it your major malfunction?"

That was a joke.

I have never thought that Homestar or any other major character was a robot, and your points do not change a thing for me. Sorry.

Anyways, I prefer to think of them as dumb animal characters, too. None of them have ever showed any signs of being anything but human like dumb animal characters.

(Oh, and on the 1-Up Stinkoman debate - cyborgs, duh.)

I was not exactly trying to convince anybody he was a robot, I was just giving my reasons for why I initially thought he was a robot. Just wanted to see if I was alone in thinking he was, and appearently, I am. The reason I started this thread was I was no longer really sure that he was a robot, so I tried to recall why I initially thought so and see if anyone else felt the same.

I had two more reasons I found to suggest homestar was a robot. But I can't remember the first one. :-( The second is in extra plug. When the power goes out, they have a cable wrapped around homestar and it somehow acts as a powersource.

I don't think homestar is a robot, but I still think you could make a pretty good argument.

He wasn’t being youse as a power source he was just tied up and if you fond the Easter egg in that cartoon you would see that strong bad plugged the boot in the KOT's castle

The same could be asked about many a Homestar Runner character - what is the King of Town supposed to be, anyway? ;)

As for a robot getting sick, feeling pain and eating, perhaps those are jokes? .......... just screams "ROBOT!"

Just trust me on this one. He isnt. If they wanted him to be a robot, they would have said so. They already have a robot.

They have TWO!

"Senor Cardgage Mort-gage helped consolidate my whole life into this tiny box. Thanks Senor Mort-gage!"

"Now spell: Come back, Ali..... come back, Ali's sister....."

Oh! I totally forgot grape nuts. Thanks.

He drinks, and he did....something in the luau behind the gazebo. Also, he has a gender.

He does that same something in a jar in A Jumping Jack Contest.

Anyway, no I don't think Homestar is a robot, but cool theory anyway.

Also, they have three robots, in fact. The Robot, The Visor Robot and the Grapenuts Box Robot.

You need to wait like 6 years.

They arent looking for new mods right now, and if any of the current mods dies, quit, or stepped down, then someone old would take the spot, like jello, or shwoo, or (Spends a long time thinking up another responsible, active user) JuJu Master.

Basically, an administrator would PM you to ask you if you want to be one, but they arent looking for any right now, at least I dont think.

Basically, it's a "don't call us, we'll call you" sort of deal.

Maybe Homestar is just a fictional cartoon that is just a thing. Y'all are over thinking this way too much.

As fans, isn't it our duty to overthink stuff? :P

Homestar's a cartoon. He's a random drawing put in a kid's book turned into flash cartoon.

in other words, pale guy.

No, im almost positive that homestar is not a robot for the same reasons that the other people said. (Yes, im very lazy) But perhaps Homsar is some sort of robotic Homestar cyborg gone wrong? The world will never know...
