When trying to edit a page, I don't see the anti bot image, instead I see the words "CAPTCHA Image".
So, if anybody would be so kind as to either fix it, or post the following in the kid speedy disscussion:
== Larger than the others? ==
The marker on the top left of the screen for Kid Speedy is larger and redder than the marker for the opponents, and although this is fairly common in racing games, could this also be reference to the fact that Kid Speedy is somewhat obese-like?

Edited by Stu::

Let's keep discussion/updates/etc regarding the CAPTCHA (or its not-working-ness) to this post. That way you only have to look one place for any updates regarding it. :)

K... Thanks,

Stu

I can give you a good guess on how a vote on that would go.

The CAPTCHA system is temporarily offline. We expect the problem to be resolved soon. Please stand by, or if possible log in to edit.

Okay, everyone, listen up.
Everytime a major update shows up, some other articles are edited so they can include certain data as seen in the major update, right? Now I was looking in the "Emails by Sender," "Emails by Place," "Emails by Subject," etc., and they haven't been updated since Redesign came out. What the heck is up with that? Huh? I'm still having trouble editing pages because the image code with 6 slightly distorted letters still doesn't show up. Can any one, for goodness sake, please do something about it?

Yes, the CAPTCHA system is down, which means that all anonymous users who don't have the option of logging in can't edit right now. I don't know why, but I'll let you know anything that comes up.

Do you guys have any timeline on when it'll be good to go?

I've been told it broke when we upgraded php. There's a ticket in the works, but it's unknown how long it will take to fix. Hopefully soon.

When PHP was updated, it broke libgd, the library CAPTCHA uses to draw the images (actually, according to TPTB it broke FreeType, a dependency of GD).
I don't know much about the hosting setup, but it seems it's not something the admins can fix themselves, they have to wait for the host to fix it for them. I don't think there's any sort of timeframe... we just have to wait 'till they sort it out.

I thought that the admins had shell access? i.e. so they can properly recompile PHP?

They have shell access, but I'm certain they don't have root access.

I just know I'm gonna be swamped as soon as I say this, but...

Send me a forum PM, with the username you want, and I'll make you a wiki account. Then the CAPTCHA shouldn't be an issue.
