Yes, until you accidentally broke the Aperture Science Super Colliding Super Button and trapped her in test chamber 17.

You clearly didn't have good enough bedside manners.

No, I got 6/6 soon after the game was released, long before ctf_well was released

Yeah, there are fixes for that now. A lot of people had the same problem as you.

Okay, I'm ticked. I just installed the Orange Box, and so I load up TF2. The game crashes, and I fix it and it begins to work. Now, whenever I go into a server, or if I'm just sliding my pointer accross the buttons at the menu, I hear nothing. I turn my volume all the way up, and only then do I barely begin to hear anything. The in game volume and SFX are all turned up to 100, and everything else works just fine, but I get no sound.

What can I do to fix it?

Also, this happens to me in Garry's Mod too.

Medic achivements revealed

Just let me say that these are going to be the cancer that will Kill Team Fortress 2. Stupid crap like this encourages people to play bad:

Quote:
Placebo Effect: Kill 5 enemies in a single life while having your uber-charge ready, but undeployed.

ahahaha.

I hope they don't tie the impossible, annoying ones to the unlockables that are going to be added. (At the rate valve is releasing this stuff, probably 2009)

The Ubersaw
For the determined medic that has earned all 36 of the new achievements, they will find themselves the proud owner of "The Ubersaw," which will take damage done in melee attacks and convert it directly to ubercharge. Four hits with this new weapon will fully charge whatever medigun the medic has equpped.

Ugh, achivements. I like Valve and all, but...seriously, one of the worst ideas they're ever had.

Achievements aren't bad, they were really fun in audiosurf, but these are ridiculous. Achievements should be something where you're playing and the little message pops up and you're like "sweet, i must be a pro." These sound like they would really disrupt the game, with medics running around trying to get bonesaw kills and not helping the team. People will eventually just set up medic orgy so you can get some of these, which would ruin the point (but you would have to, or you would be at a disadvantage to everyone with a crit bonesaw or a healing syringe gun)

^hay, is that Joe?

You're right, it's not that achivements are inherently bad, it's that rewarding people for doing stupid stuff kind of ruins the game for everyone else.

I wish I was playing TF2 more lately but it hates my computer. Half the time it does that looping sound crash and the other half it does internal error in direct3D. Plus, it loads like molasses going uphill in the winter (on CRUTCHES) and sometimes it runs out of memory, so it's either play it the 5% of the time it cooperates with me or play it on my parents computer at 640x480 with no AA.

Eh, I'll just play some Quake Wars or BF2. :/

Is that any good? I've been debating purchasing it, but haven't been completely convinced. Also, is the offline play any good?

It's not bad, but there are barely any servers and it needs a kinda fast internet (I get a lot of lag at ~150Kb/S). When you get into it, though, it rules.

I never really tried offline play, but it's just bots and no campaign, so I'm sure it'll get pretty stale.

Oh okay, well I'm on Satellite. Yeah its high-speed and all, but no broadband. AoE II lags more on here than it does on dial-up. I can download fast and browse the webz fast though!

So yeah, the offline play is where its at for me, until I go to my friends house, but we just play Halo 3 over there. I'm ramblin', I'll probably get it. Battlefield 2 isn't too much of a challenge on Expert anymore.

I was talking about the PC BF2, which is more like quake wars than anything. Modern Combat kind of sucks, tbh
