Call me "Captain Slow Out Of The Gate" if you want but I just realized that none of the teams in last year's final four even made the field of 65.

I lol'd.

Ummm....UCLA and Georgetown are in the Tournament.

UCLA has a 1 seed and Georgetown is a 2.

Wow, SR, now we can really call you "Captain Slow Out Of The Gate". Speaking of last year's NCAA tournament, get yerself signed up, man. From last year's group, we're missing entries from Stu, Lahi, and StrongRad.

And ed, the Jayhawks? I picked them a few years ago to go all the way. They flamed out in the 2nd round. I've never picked them to make it to the Final Four since, and it's worked out for me so far. Kansas will always break your heart.

Sadly, no.

The Celtics did a fantastic job taking McGrady completely out of his game. Scola was the Rockets' offense for much of the second half, and when Scola is your offense, you're not gonna win.

I am so excited for the Western Conference playoffs. Every round is going to be a dogfight, every team can beat every other team. Though as a Jazz fan, I'm only afraid of San Antonio (very afraid) and the Lakers in the playoffs. Now, if Minnesota was in, I'd fear them, as well.

The East is frickin' embarrassing. The Hawks are currently in the 8th spot, and they have as many wins as Utah has losses. A 43% winning percentage = fail.

This year is kind of make-or-break for me. I have a lot of upsets, and the 'bandwagon team' every year always seems to break everyone's heart too (last year OSU). On Facebook, I'll probably make a 'safe' bracket in addition, but for here I got this slightly crazy one...

Just wait until you see where I put Notre Dame.

But seriously, where are lahimatoa, Acekirby, StrongRad, ramrod, and Stu (and whoever else)? There isn't much time left!

The East is terrible. The Celtics have steamrolled the entire Conference. The only possible roadblock on their way to the Finals is the Pistons. And the way they've played the entire year I think the Celtics can win. They've played the West well all year, too, so I'll be interested in who gets there from that Conference.

I've got them bowing out first round. GO GEORGE MASON!!! Besides, I am not a fan of Notre Dame Basketball, just football. I am a Syracuse fan when it comes to basketball. I have Kansas bowing out to Georgetown in the Elite Eight.

I don't either. I don't know how the heck they got in. They did not deserve a bit.

This was the first bracket I put together, and I never went back and looked at the picks I made. Until now. I'm not too proud of it. As I'm looking it over I'm saying to myself "You picked who to get how far??" This is definitely the most unconventional of all the brackets I put together. I'll really be in trouble if Xavier(3) loses to Georgia(14). It's not looking promising, down by 13 with 15 minutes left.

EDIT: Whew, looks like they're coming back.

I was gonna say something, but I'm not that mean.

I think they were one of the "Last Four In".

I didn't think they'd go far either.
I hope the "fire Tubby" crowd is happy with this Ted Kennedy wannabe they got.

I think they deserved Billy Donovan, but Billy G. is still a fair punishment.

Also, Lahi, you and BTG just agreed on something.

Quick, one of you call the other some sort of derogatory, politically-charged name.

Oh. I see. I have George Mason beating them too. My bracket hasn't done well so far, though; I already got the Kent St. game wrong.

He started it.

BYU's tied at the half with Texas A&M. After looking like crap for a good ten minutes, I'm happy with the score.

C'mon second half.

I'm looking at South Alabama to be a "semi-Cinderella" this year.

A lot of people think I'm crazy for thinking they're going to beat Tennessee.
A lot of people told me they'd have no chance making the tourney as an at large bid as well.

South went 2-0 against Western Kentucky. Western Kentucky took Tennessee to the buzzer this year. South also went into double OT with Vandy, and they played against other SEC teams pretty well.
They lost in the Sun Belt tourney, so they know they're not invincible.

I'd look for the Jags in the Sweet 16 (but I think the Sweet 16 will be midnight for them).

That Ted Kennedy wannabe coached a real good ball game today. Marquette was just the better team. We have Patrick and we win that game.

Also Duke BARELY escaped. I was really pulling for Belmont to win that one. Duke's lack of inside presence has really come back to haunt them.

Well, my Cougars disappointed once again.

Last win in the tourney was 1992.

Awww, BYU lets me down again... I really, really considered not choosing them. But they're set as my favorite team on Facebook (I'm not sure why, but I'm still bitter about the whole Michigan situation).

Arizona is the other team that always lets me down. I only root for them because I (sorta) know one of their players.

Also, this George Mason thing might not happen.

Hey, I don't really, I only pretend! I watch maybe a couple games in the regular season, then once March Madness starts, I fill out a bracket from the gut and then pay close attention. Did you know you have more nerve endings to your gut than to your brain?

UCLA is leading Mississippi Valley State 40-16 at the half. I think UCLA is going to win.

Watching WKU and Drake.
Looks like both teams think that there's a 15 second shot clock.
Tubby-ball, this is not.

They're off to a running start in this one. Look for the lights to be shot out by the end of this one.

Davidson and Gonzaga are having a 3-point contest. And the have Nance and Packer covering the game. Billy Packer is in Mid-Major Hell right now.

Western Kentucky and Drake are doing the same.
66-50 right now.
WKU is shooting their 3's from somewhere near Orlando, too.
This is great.
The WKU starters are in foul trouble, so the Hilltoppers have their "small' team in, and they're shooting out the lights.

EDIT: Cwap, Drake is making a run and trying to make a comeback (and they appear to be doing pretty well at that). Rick Pitino would be VERY proud of Drake's press here.
EDIT x2: (Rule 6 word), Drake's cut it to 1 point with about a minute to go.
EDIT X3: This game was so good they're going to play 5 more minutes... 88-88 at 00:00.

That was a Patrick Sparks move.

It had the same outcome I was expecting, but I was thinking Courtney Lee would take the shot.
There is one thing that would bug me to no end if I were a Drake fan, though; Why did their coach call a timeout after they made the foul shot?

SR, I realize it's early, but I bet you're starting to wish you this bracket was the one for money. I've got one bracket that's still doing okay, but not this one. Blech.
