SR, I realize it's early, but I bet you're starting to wish you this bracket was the one for money. I've got one bracket that's still doing okay, but not this one. Blech.

I thought about saying something, but it's REALLY early, and it seems like my success either comes early in the tournament (with a late tournament choke) or late in the tournament after a subpar first round.

We'll see what happens, but right now, it's looking pretty good for you guys against me.

UCONN losing made me happy. Davidson and Villanova winning made my bracket happy.

Hello, Sweet 16 (or at least a shot at it).

Suddenly, it feels like 1993 all over again.

I was surprised that USD was able to come out on top. Quite the exciting game.

Here's hoping to a West Virginia win over the Dookies today.

So in the Big East/ACC matchups the Big East is 2-0(3-0 if you count Syracuse's win over Maryland in the NIT). So in the battle of the Super Conferences, the Big East is supreme. Plus the Big East still has 5 0f it's 6 teams left.

Brook Lopez just made a very tough shot to lift Stanford over Marquette to the Sweet Sixteen. Had UK beat Marquette, they would've been no match for the Lopez twins.

That had to be an interesting family game... (but would have been more interesting as a football game)
Jim Harbaugh is Stanford's football coach. His dad, Jack, is associate athletic director at Marquette.

Marquette doesn't play football.

The winner of the Texas A&M/UCLA game has a clear path to the Elite Eight. That Sweet Sixteen game will be a glorified first round game.

I would say the same for Kansas, but if Villanova wins, I am not so sure. Kansas has not done very well in recent times against the Big East.

What... you believe seeding is all that matters? That results on the floor are meaningless?

You must be a fan of the BCS.

Do you really think that either WKU or San Diego have a chance against UCLA?

MSU and UCLA advanced. That keeps my FInal Four alive.

Ugh, the thought of MSU in the Final Four makes me sick. [/reference to 3 years ago].

My final four is still alive with the Texas win today...and D.J. Augustin airballed a free throw. oops.

Well, I had the crappiest start ever, but a good second round, so I'm coming for you SR!

I lost my first elite 8 team, though (Georgetown). That was a heck of a comeback.

I honestly believe that WKU has a perfect chance against UCLA.

They've shot the lights out in the last 2 games.
As long as they don't just stop playing for about 8 minutes in the second half like they've done, they should be just fine.

Anyone else see that Louisville player choke at the foul line? Any time you can make your teammates, your coach, AND the officials laugh at you, you've done something.

That is entirely up to how stingy the UCLA defense wants to be. I mean this team has only allowed 78 points in two games. That is the least amount since the introduction of the shot clock. I do think it is possible for WKU to knock off UCLA.

I think Kansas's run might be over. Villanova knows the 2-3 zone. The Big 12 has no clue on how to deal with it(See: Syracuse's 2003 National Title Run and Sunday's Louisville/Oklahoma game).

I think WKU can also beat UCLA unless the refs are completely stoned like they were in UCLA's last two Pac 10 games.

I don't think Kansas loses to Villanova. Too much depth on Kansas' side.

Jonny Flynn of Syracuse just had the biggest block I've ever seen in my life. It will be on YouTube before the night is over.

Well Syracuse held UMass under 100 points this time, to bad they could hold them to under 77.

Syracuse is going to be a force next year. All of the Freshman from this year's team are returning battle hardened and we are getting Devendorf and Rautins back as well.

The Big East is dominating in the Women's Tourney too. 5 of the Sweet Sixteen team in that Tournament are from the Big East. So if you combine the two tournaments, the Big East represents a quarter of the teams that are left.

Can't find it out there.

So Dirk goes down for Dallas. Bad news, because in my opinion, the Kidd trade was all about winning a championship now or next year, and if the Mavs slip at all over the next two weeks, there's a very real chance they'll miss the playoffs entirely.

Congratulations Washington St., you are the first team to hold North Carolina to under 100 points, unfortunately you were held you under 50 and lost by 21.

Xavier beat West Virginia in OT and go Louisville!

GALLDERN UCLA.

THEM LA BOYS AIN'T A LETTIN' US WIN!

WKU just can't seem to put the ball in the basket.

EDIT: Suddenly, I'm thinking of waking up my wife... The 21 point halftime deficit has been cut to 6.

Well it's UNC/Louisville in the East and it looks like it's going to be UCLA/Xavier in the West.

It would be WKU/Xavier if WKU wouldn't try to drive the lane when they need a 3 (and are outnumbered in the lane 4-1)

Oh well... Sweet 16 is better than 48 other teams could do.

I wish they would knock 3 or 4 points off of UCLA's score...

They almost blew a 21 point lead... Almost is the key, though.

The only thing that was wrong with the Louisville/Tennessee game was...someone had to win. I would rather Louisville win than the Cesspool of the South that is the University of Tennessee...still haven't made it past the Sweet Sixteen.

UCLA beat WKU (as I knew they would), but still hoped Western would pull it out.

Kansas and Wisconsin win tonight as do Texas and Memphis.

I'm rooting for Villanova/Davidson and I have MSU/Texas in the South. No coach prepares his team for March like Tom Izzo.

After the Gardner Webb game, I will never cheer for another "cinderella" ever again, with the exception of WKU this year.

You could argue the fact that Izzo is the best March coach, but you have to give Izzo credit for what he has been able to do with the Michigan State program.

This could be the first year that all the number one seeds go to the Final Four, but that probably won't happen.

Yeah, that's true... but I'm still not sure why I picked them. I like MSU about as much as any Wolverine fan is allowed to, so I was kind of sad. I think they used Drew Neitzel way too much, and he never scored. He's a decent all-around player, but he's kind of overrated... He went to a high school nearby me, so I saw him play our school a couple times, and he was amazing but at that time we actually had 2 players who were probably as good as he was (one of them probably could've gone to MSU if not for a injury his senior year; he's now at Western Michigan, and the other was a 7' center who's currently a 5th-year senior at Arizona).
