Cardinals win first game from a out of nowhere victory! Lets hope my exictment dosent get crushed like with the Diamonbacks last season, doing good in the first couple of games raising my hopes up and BAM lose 4 straight games.

Heh, Sunday was my first try at my shiny new NFL Sunday Ticket! Not bad, I wish the Panthers would have won, and I was dissapointed that the Patriots came back in the end. And with how well the Jags played, I'll be interested to see Steelers-Jaguars next Monday.

You know, the funniest thing is that you were right.

Division I-AA is fighting back. New Hampshire, Montana State, Portland State.. they're not all doormats, although MSU had a huge letdown against some place called "Chadron State" this week.
I'm very surprised that Steve McNair has made Baltimore look so good so quickly. It may just be a one-week thing, but who knows? This could be a nice boost for the Ravens this year.

You know hat school is fun to watch, Mount Union. They are the most dominant football team I have ever seen.

Wikipedia wrote:
By far the best-known sports program at Mount Union is football, which has won a record eight Division III national championships, all since 1993. They also jointly hold the all-division record for consecutive victories at 55, ended in their loss to St. John's (Minn.) in the 2003 national championship game. The Purple Raiders also won 110 consecutive regular-season games between 1994 and 2005. This streak was ended by the Ohio Northern Polar Bears in 2005

Ok, that's just sick. I would like to see them move up to D-II. It would be nice change from complete domination.

Lol, safety. That was one ugly win. But a win nonetheless.

I have a question for you Ace: What is it with Boston Sports teams and stupid trades?

The Sox have had Babe Ruth and letting Johnny Damon go.
The Bruins traded Joe Thorton and Sergei Samsinov, their two best players, away.
And now the Pats have traded away Deion Branch to the defending NFC Champs, the Seahawks.

Can't argue too much with the Ruth and Damon trades, but Branch seemed absolutely dead set on leaving the Patriots. You can't force someone to play for you... yes, you can penalize them financially, but when it gets right down to it, Branch didn't ever have to take the field for NE again.

In that situation, I can't really blame NE too much.

And if they dominate in D-II, then they are a team that the NFL should watch for late round drafts.

I can, you don't give away someone like this. This guy is a game changing reciever, and they send him to Seattle. Seattle, a definate Super Bowl contender. You work out your differences with this type of player, not send him packing.

But if you can't work out the differences, and everything has failed, what other choice do you have? Release him? Then you lose a reciever, and gain nothing in return.

I'm wishing I had Buffalo's defense today. Culpepper is spending more time on his back than on his feet.

Er, Bears winning 24-0, I should probably be happy. But it's so foreign.

Giants tied it. 24-24. What a comeback by New York. Come on, boys. Let's go to OT and win this thing.

EDIT: The Giants won the toss.

I have to say the fumbled INT to a TD was one of the most bizzare plays I've seen this season.

Giants win!

Eli chucked it up and Plexico came down with it for the touchdown.

I'm hoping Da Bears win this season. Along with NIU. But they're both just so that I can see my dad and sister happ. But I'm also oriented towards them, so that's okay. :p

Didn't they beat the Packers the past 2 years, anyway? ;)

Haven't everyone beat the Packers the last 2 years?

I don't care, though. I'll still wear the Green and Gold. I refuse to run off to a winning team just because things aren't going good.
My "second" team is doing pretty good, though. RUDY! RUDY! RUDY!

(Why are the Bengals my 2nd team? 1) The Ickey Shuffle, 2) Without them, Majick would have stayed the Packers QB and Favre would have been destined to be a 2nd string QB, traded around until he got old and retired.)

olololololol

Chicago did look quite good today. If Rex Grossman stays healthy, watch out for the Bears. It's not every year their offense puts up insane numbers like this.

Not much cheering for our respective teams this weekend.

Green Bay got beat by the Saints. (The Saints?)

Notre Dame just got embarrassed by Michigan. Badly.

And BYU lost in double overtime to Boston College in a game where they had 7 chances to pull out a win and couldn't do it. Choke city, I tell you.

Correction, the 2-0 Saints.. Yeah, it really feels weird saying that.

My Toppers won over Chattanooga.
Found out that they're probably (mistakenly) going to 1-A shortly. The reason they hadn't was because they would have to come up with something like 21 more football scholarships to meet 1-A requirements. Title IX, ironically, is making them come up with those scholarships (they have 21 more female athlete scholarships than male scholarships). Personally, I'd like to see more of the male scholarships go to basketball, but oh well.

I think the renovated stadium has something to do with this desire to go to 1-A. Personally, I think it's a mistake. At least let them win another 1-A championship first.

Wow. Syracuse actually won a game yesterday. Their 11 game losing streak has come to an end. And so has the world.

Also, the Cowboys won today as well. Freaking yes.

Hey, they are still in the National Title hunt. I feel sorry for Michigan State next week.

As bad as it is, you should at least feel used to the disappointment. I think it's been three years running that the "sports experts" in the media have declared the upcoming season to be the one where the Cardinals finally "turn it all around", and what happens is another dud of a season.

That being said, there's still 14 Sundays left.

Well, this week of football wasn't that great for me. The Patriots and Cowboys won, and the Panthers lost. Still, that Giants comeback was pretty amazing.

Beyond the Grave wrote:

Ah, I remember the days back when Plexico Burress was a Steeler, and he caught a touchdown in the only pro football game I've ever been to. Those were good days.

I'll allow that to be the segway into tonight's game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and my Pittsburgh Steelers. The Jaguars looked good against Dallas last week, and they should put up a good fight tonight. If the Steelers can win this game, I'll feel more confident about the rest of the season.

Whoot Pats win again. That was a squeeker, though, and it really shouldn't have been.

Now on to BTG.

Beyond the Grave wrote:

Babe Ruth was over 88 years ago. We all got over it with the World Series win. As for Johnny, whatever. I felt the same way as I did when Vinny left for the Colts- go there if you want.

Beyond the Grave wrote:

O'Connel was always an idiot. He's finally gone, but the damage is done.

Beyond the Grave wrote:

Deion's head was big. He should have never gotten that Super Bowl MVP. He wasn't going to stick around anyway, so whatever.

The Packers did the same thing with Desmond Howard. A lot of people second guessed them for that, but it seems to have worked out for the better. You've heard more good things about the Packers than you have Desmond Howard.

I'm no charger fan, but I HATE the Titans. It seems like, if the Titans are on, the other NFL stations show a movie, or, like yesterday, a rodeo.
