"Coming Home" by Alter Bridge

I first came across this Creed-fallout band in 2004 right about when a man named Edge (a.k.a. Adam Copeland) started using Metalingus (from their first album "One Day Remains") as his entrance music in the WWE. The song fitted his character excellently, and can still be heard accompagnying him to the ring today. However, he was recently out with a torn pectoral muscle, and towards his comeback date a remixed version of "Coming Home" featuring the eponymous phrase from Edge's music through his career ("You Think You Know Me") started circling various sites and YouTue videos. It was actually just a nicely edited soundbyte encompassing two and a half minutes of the song, which, if I'm honest, probably was glued together on Audacity in an hour or so. Nonetheless, it was convincing.

He never used the music, but all the same, the alledged "new song" grew on me. Then I went out and bought Alter Bridge's second album "Blackbird" and I wasn't disappointed. Nice to see a few good metal bands circling the place. I highly recommend both the original version of the song and the album. If wrestling's not your thing, don't worry about it. The versions used there are heavily edited to make them more high impact and more befitting the context.

Anyhoo, it's a good song on a consistently good metal album. Worth checking out.

Old Crow Medicine Show - Wagon Wheel

I don't think Old Crow Medicine Show will ever get old. Of course, that goes for any folky songs about heartbreak, hitchhiking, and things that are in the atlantic south.

Have you even heard it? A lot of people just assume it sucks because of N*Sync.

Quiet - Smashing Pumpkins

I personally think this would have made a better choice for the Guitar Hero III Smashing Pumpkins song.

Yes.

Listening to it again, incidentally.

And now it's...

Bankshot - Operation Ivy

I've only recently gotten into this band, but I already really like them. Yaaaaaaaaaaay ska!

Dear Sergio by Streetlight Manifesto

I like the Catch 22 version more, but this is still pretty cool.

I've never heard it. I just assumed it sucks 'cause it's Justin Timberlake.

Together We're Heavy- The Polyphonic Spree

Crazy weird symphonic band/religious cult.

That sort of reminds me of Arcade Fire's interactive music video.

I just downloaded Stunt on iTunes. I still have it in my car, but a couple the songs are scratched off.

Light Up My Room - BNL

This song is really relaxing. I don't listen to BNL enough anymore.

^ That's one of my favorite songs on Stunt. Pretty much the entire album is good, but I've always really liked that one. They can produce great music that's fast or slow.

If I had to suggest three BNL albums to download, I would have to say Stunt and Barenaked Ladies Are Men (the newest one) as two definite must-haves, and either Maroon or Everything to Everyone as the other. Also All Their Greatest Hits.

EDIT: hahaha I almost forgot, Alcohol is on Stunt.

Cool, I'm not the only person here who likes them!

Things I'll Never Say - Avril Lavigne

Some of her best early stuff.
