*WARNING! MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD! ABORT MISSION!*

How many of you think the ending of A Series of Unfortunate Events SUCKED? I mean, the whole thing is a gigantic puzzle, and The Beatrice Letters doesn't help one freakin' bit.

Voice your opinions.

Uh, Be freakin' specific in your title. The only way to tell what ending you're talking about is by reading the spoiler, rending your warning utterly useless.

Thanks.

Jeez, calm down. I changed the title. There weren't really any spoilers in the first post anyway.

How can that not be considered a spoiler?

Because anyone who has read the first 9 or so books knows that this is all a big puzzle, and the part about The Beatrice Letters is just me talking about another side-book in the series, but I didn't really reveal any spoilers at all.

It's not hard to read a book in a day or two...

I stopped reading after book 11. I dunno. They all of a sudden seemed to childish. Not that I was trying to act all mature all of a sudden or once, it's just that I got really tired of how he defines a certain word then rants on about it for two or three pages. I did enjoy them a lot though.

It didn't suck. Quit complaining.

Those tihngs were never meant to be answered, and it'd really expected from Snicket's style.

Um... So what happened in the end? I never bothered reading more than a couple, and not in order, so I don't care.

*spoilers*

They end up getting stranded on the island when everyone believes they ruined it and brought corruption. Count Olaf, with a strange stomach wound, eventually dies and so does Kit Snicket, whose baby IS born alive.

In Chapter Fourteen, the epilogue, it's a year later and Sunny's not a baby and stuff. Kit's daughter is named Beatrice, and when they decide to leave the island, they take off a nameplace saying "Count Olaf" revealing a secret - Beatrice - their mother.

...which means that Beatrice, Lemony's ex fiance, is the orphan's mother. And stuff.

I was a little disappointed that the book didn't explain much, but the way the book was written made the lack of explanations seem natural.

I guessed that Beatrice was the Baudelaire's mother as soon as it mentioned that they named Kit's baby after their mother, so chapter fourteen was kind of anticlimatic for me.

It was a little disconcerting to see a six year old like Friday speak like an adult, but I think that was probably because I hadn't read a Snicket book since the Penultimate Peril came out.
