That wasn't much of a dispute, though. They just hated our rules. We never had a dispute with the homestarrunner.net people. I never even knew they had a forum. |

It shut down about 3 years ago. I forge thow many members it had but it was a big number. It was at the time the biggest message board for H*R. A link to it on the internet archive, WayBack Machine: http://web.archive.org/web/200306032022 ... net/forum/ (its currently down for some reason but it worked yesterday so it will most likely work again soon) It was cool stuff. |

It was cool stuff. Well, as you probably know, we now own the homestarrunner.net domain. Also, SR, yeah, I was thinking of Homestarrules, But it wasnt about them saying our rules were stupid and strict or anything. i think it was about them trying to impose what we did with the Homestarrunner.net domain. |

Yeah, there is still a good of hostility towards JoeyDay for taking over Homestarrules.net.

Yeah, there is still a good of hostility towards JoeyDay for taking over Homestarrules.net.yeah, it was hR.net, thats the reason they began to hate us. I think they were hoping it would be given to them. Looks like they made the good decision, seeing as Simon gave up on HRRules, he might have given up on HR.net. |

Well, the thing with net was that we didn't buy it or anything, it was given to us. It's not like Joey walked in there, kicked butts and took names. Even though he did do that.
But that's besides the point, so a paint we go. |

If you go to .net this is what you will see. Their main complaint is that Joey hasn't done anything with .net. |

anyone know where HRrules people went? Some are on here, i belive you'll recognize BTG from theyre, as well as Ramrod, i presume. when we got word taht they had a thread over theyre talking about our accquiring of HR.net, alot of us over here joined over theyre to make sure things didnt go wrong. It got out of hand and most of us left and never went back. when we got word of them closing, some forumers here rejoyced. the ones who were origionally from theyre just stood theyre and couldnt help but shed a tear. |

Actually COLA, I'd just like to point out one thing. I was never a part of either Rules nor Net. This has been my first and only Homestar forum I've been a part of. |

Socks and Vinegar essentially is the direct descendent of the old .Net social community, not the .Net Homestar-fan community. H*R Wiki's from the latter group. Now, does the divide make more sense? |

indeed. i've been chatting over there and have located some people. I think it would be nice to get the old memberlist from marc. he has to have saved it. how could he not. i mean.. how can you just delete a message board with 4000 people and not save a memberlist or something |

Hi there. I don't post on the forum, but this thread cought my attantion. I've been a user and a poster on the .net. Yes, it was the biggest on it's time, and that time was long ago. It was also the time of TheCoolestSiteEver.com where insted of putting the "obligatory wiki link" we put that one insted. We also kept an always updated Easter egg list and secret pages. I remember when TROGDOR! game came out and it was the first really big game. Everyone was trying to find secret huts. That's also why I'd always love the period between emails 70 and 95. All the talk and chatter. We were a big community. We had games, quizes... Wow. Thanks for the post. this brings back alot .
I've never been in a forum like that since. A short while after I joined the Tavi Wiki and... Well... http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php/User:E.L._Cool Drop me a message there if you wanna talk about the old times. |

Now, does the divide make more sense? That also makes a difference in the subject matter of the forum. The Wiki Forum has a lot of discussion H*R. We are more interested in talking about H*R. S&V doesn't even talk about H*R anymore. We are strictly off-subject.

I once tried registering for the homestarruner.net forums, for it was somehow (I dont know how) filtered out as spam mail (The activation email.). Therefore, I could not register, as there was no 'resend activation email' button. |

Wait, BTG goes to that forum? Well that forum is a little bit dead. It only has 117 users, and 55 of them had 100 posts and up, so that forum is on its last legs. |

No, its not on its last legs. Its a special hang out for old homestar rules forum members. We have new posts everyday. Just because there arnt many people means that we are dead or dying. We just have a really tightly weaved community. |
