| Post subject: | NES Games |
I recently found myself in the possession of an NES. While this is really cool for me I don’t really have any games. This made me think. There are a lot of people here that were either around then or still have an NES. So I need to ask, what are some good games? Not just ones I’ve played a dozen like The Legend of Zelda or the Mega Man series, but games that I missed like Kid Icarus or Blaster Master. Anything I really have to get? |

Well, aside from the obvious ones like Mario, another good one is Duck Hunt. I loved that game. |

Or Mario/Duck Hunt! That's even better!
Yep duck hunt is fun. My grandpa has it, so I've played it a lot. If I get a light gun I'll have to pick that one up. |

I'd say Paperboy definitely, great game. And Excitebike. Sid Meier's Pirates! is a great game, I had it for the PC, but I think it was made for NES as well. |

Battletoads, Battletoads, Battletoads! Also, Techmo Bowl is a good, simple football game. I like MC Kids, too, but I've heard nobody else does.

Since the obvious choices are out of the way, I would like to recommend Rare's forgotten gem, Snake Rattle 'n Roll. You play as a snake that has to eat pellets, while dodging enemies like feet and toilet seats. Has to be seen to be believed. |

I went to a (somewhat) local Slackers and got several games. The best is by far Crystalis. That game is awsome. Too bad I suck at it. I'm going to keep a sharp eye out for the rest of the games you guys posted. |

I'll give these suggestions: StarTropics. Like Zelda 3 in terms of puzzle difficulty, but for NES. Marble Madness. I had it on Tandy, but it's also on NES. Great game, despite 6 levels. Operation Wolf. Good game. Sadly, OW and ST I had anger over because of my crap remake of NES, the YoBo NES. If they make a non-crappy controller and a light gun, then I might play more often. Or better yet, I can just go buy an NES because I have family who never believed me that I wanted an NES and instead gave me a crappy copout. Or, even better, make them myself! I just need to alter stuff and maybe try to make a connector wire that'll connect to that thing. Why didn't they make NES-style controller plugs and save us all grief?! |
