I've seen people talk about this in a couple other threads, so I think I'll make a new one. Pandora is a free music service that plays only the music you want to hear. Just type in the names of your favorite bands and it generates a custom radio station with songs that match similar musical qualities of the bands you enter.

There is so much good music out there; I love listening to the Boards of Canada, Blue Man Group, Joy Electric and The Faint stations the most.

I love this site. Half of what I listen to now I've discovered here. My account. Feel free to comment. I've mostly got ska and 90s stations.

I hear people say that there's no good music these days a lot. This proves them wrong entirely.

I used (spelling?) to use this site all the time for Jazz. Less now though.

Dear Pandora Visitor,

We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for most listeners located outside of the U.S. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative.

Looks like the RIAA got to them. Figures...

Epic.

Mah stations are composed mainly of Joy Electric, Junior Boys, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, They Might Be Giants, and Five for Fighting. They're all great.

I like Pandora, but I also like Musicovery. That's pretty cool, try that as well. I use them both.

Zuh, Pandora never works right for me. I set up the stations, but it never plays songs at all similar to the station I set up, and yes, I rate the songs.

You need to give it time. Eventually it'll become more specialized to your test. It tries to push your limits to see how far from your preferred genre you'll go, especially at the beginning, so you need to be patient with it.
