The TIME Person of the Year is, er, you. "Referencing contributors to user created content 'for seizing the reins of the global media, for founding and framing the new digital democracy, for working for nothing and beating the pros at their own game, TIME's Person of the Year for 2006 is you.'" -- (Wikipedia) Glad I could help, TIME. Drum rodents to all of us!! *Throws streamers* (I can't throw steamers) Ok, so I'm person of the year. Sometime in the next 50 years, I plan on getting that honor again. |

Id like to accept this award and say: HA! And you told me it would never happen, Ray Charles! EDIT: if anything, I think Kevin Federline should get it. I mean, youve seen this guy everywhere, in everything, from getting his face kicked in CSI, to getting body slammed by John Cena on RAW. He had a new album out, he was the butt of all jokes, He got a new kid, he lost his rights to see that kid. All in all, this year was all about him, even though he sucks and cant make a good french fry at all. |

Person of the Year is given to the person that "for better or worse, has most influenced events in the preceding year." Keven Federline has not seriously influenced any important events this year. |

Obviously they couldn't think of anything so they had a good-ol fashioned "You're all winners!" thing. |

Honestly, I can't think of any single person who deserves it this year. If I absolutely had to pick one person, I'd say either Bush or Kim Jong-il. But I don't honestly think either one of them has really done enough on their own to warrant it. In a major political scope, this has been a rather slow year. There have been a lot of problems, but no big new developments. I only said Kim Jong-il because of North Korea's nuclear testing, and even that, although one of the more noteworthy events from this year, really hasn't had all that much of an impact. And Bush really hasn't affected things much more this year than you might expect form the President of the United States. |

The TIME Person of the year lost credibility back in 1998 when they removed Mick Foley from consideration even though he was well out in front in the voting. I was outraged! |

At the same time, it does make a lot of sense. With the huge amounts of user created content on the web now, the general populous, i.e. "us" has had a huge influence this past year. |

They shouldnt have said "You!" they should have said "Bloggers!" Because that defines what they say better. So in other words, my rantings about some Canadian freaky blogger dude is a Winner! |

I can think of a few people who deserve this... such as those the Danes who published those offensive cartoons, those involved in the planetary convention which reclassified Pluto as a dwarf planet, etc. (I know that there is more then one person involved in the events I mentioned, but Time does weird stuff like that) |

So I click on the link to go to Time, without first seeing who the person was. I am first bypassed to a car ad, that I promptly skip. It was on long enough for me to see it say "You may not be the person of the year, but..." and I assume it went on about how you could still enjoy the luxurious ride of their such-and-such-mobile. The main article loads up, and I see the person of the year, is in fact me. The ad can consider itself thouroughly owned.

Now if anybody calls me stupid I'll be all "Hey! It least I've been TIME's person of the year!" Actually, TIME was stupid for doing this. It screams "WE THOUGHT THIS UP A SECOND AGO BECAUSE WE RAN OUT OF TIME!" |

My guess is that they forgot about it, then at the last minute they're like "HOLY CRAP WE NEED A PERSON OF TEH YEAR!", and some guy's like "LOL I GOTS AN IDEA WE SAY ITS EVERYONE!" |

Actually, it was a toss up between myself and Jones, but since nobody that reads Time would know who we were, they just said "let's give it to everyone!". |

Wow, that's kinda disappointing. I always look forward to seeing who TIME will choose, and this one is just stupid. My mom's a little more outraged than I am, though. |
